FYI-Ticket refunds/disaster

United Airlines is issuing refunds/changes with no penalty for those traveling until Sept. 26. You need to get your refund/change by Friday, Sept. 14, however. Other airlines have similar policies. Good luck.

Is it a good idea to call airlines today? I have ticketes on American for travel on Oct. 5th. I've had second thoughts about this quick weekend trip, but thought I'd wait until things get back to "normal" before deciding. I thought the airlines would be swamped with those that are stranded trying to make arrangements.

We had tickets to travel tomorrow on American ... they cancelled for us Wednesday and gave us a full refund credit to our credit card. No penalty. No problem at all. And if you have a car rental reservation, I know you can cancel that on-line ... I did this with Avis yesterday afternoon. You can print the cancellation notice as proof. Good luck. Ciao
