Wow, what a memory you have, Melissa! Yes, the CGH charges $25/per pet/night. The 5th Ave. Suites does not charge for pets. The additional fee discourages a lot of people from bringing their pets to the CGH.

Pet traffic would be much higher at a place that doesn't charge for doggie lodging. ***kim***

Yes, I have a very good memory...you would be surprised. BTW if a hotel accepts pets you pay either way...in the rate itself or as a separate fee.

So if a traveler gets a Priceline rate at the Suites for oh, let's say around $70/night a pet rate is included in that rate? Do you stay at hotels quite a bit or camp, just curious!! ***kim***

"It's all personal preference." exactly... and after reading it over and over and over again, we clearly know yours.

Catherine--sorry your thread is getting hijacked. I will respond to Kim and then leave it be since I do not want to be a part of the nonsense that goes on with Kim and the Portland/Seattle/Coast opinions.

Kim--We do not camp...we backpack...but you already know this. We stay at hotels when we are traveling.

IME,Narcissitic personalities acknowledge only their own perfectly correct reality. When the delusion gets
muddled, they exit, and often create another fantasy.

Wow..I kinda hate to respond but do want to make one little comment about the dogs at 5th Ave remarks. I was there when there were dogs there. 2 of them.
A tiny Yorkie ( fit in the palm of a hand) and a Dog Model LOL, a gorgeous brown lab that is in television commercials. They had a really big room, I know because I asked. Because I also have a large dog and was delighted that I could stay there with him.
Although I do not sleep with my dog, drool never worries me, I think they wash the sheets and pillow cases so your linens should be clean when you check into your room. Personally, I have seen (and heard) some wacky people that would make me hesitate to sleep in the same room that they had slept in too!
So dog drool becomes sort of preferable

I hope everyone else is having as good a giggle as I am over the ridiculous turn this thread has made.
Catherine, I promise not to respond again

Gosh, uhhh.... you've made several posts on this thread but not one suggestion for catherine! Which hotel do you prefer and when was the last time you visited Portland?

Where do you prefer to dine when in Portland? Or have you ever been there? LOL ***kim***

I'm pretty sure that catherine has been completely scared away by the complete craziness that this thread has turned into. But...it has given me great chuckles all day so thanks!

Catherine, we are all not really this crazy!

Everyone.....deep breaths....let's all move along!

Why am I under impression "kimamom" talks to herself all the time? And not only on this thread?

i was truly hoping the new thread was the next fantasy....

kim, dear, none of the places where i stay in the portland area seemed to meet catherine's criteria, so i declined making a recommendation. pity you couldn't do the same.....

and where do i "dine" (why can't we just say "eat") when in portland? well, i don't believe catherine asked. since you did, there are many places that i like, but my favorite is my mother's kitchen.

Oh, I've been to Portland only once, loved my hotel, but don't think it may be "fun" for a teen. My report must be here somewhere. So, unlike you, kimamom, I don't feel qualified to advise.

Scarlett, please don't take offense, but you're far from Dr. Phil! Now, now, my dear Scarlett, please rest your eyes and go play with your pup!

I'm sure your Yankee must be wanting his dinner about now...yes? ***kim***
