From SC where to go for a few days?

We will be in Charleston. Then we have a couple of days before we need to be in Raleigh.

Would you do a trip to VA? Thoughts?

My husband has not seen a lot of the areas where I grew up and spent much time. We were in the mountains last year and did Biltmore. He's been to Asheville.

I don't know if going into the mountains is worth it.

I was thinking of going to DC. But the drive could be long. Go on Tuesday come home on Thursday.

What would you do?

I'm a little confused. You'll be in Charleston SC on Tuesday and need to be in Raleigh NC on Thursday. But I am assuming you don't want to stay in Charleston?

If so, DC seems a long way (driving?) for such a short time frame. What about the Outer Banks?

I will be in Charleston prior to that for days. We were also just there in May.

Outer Banks.....it's the beach. I'll have just been there. I'd like to try to show my hubby something new.

And we would have known you had been at the beach . . . how?

Anyway, unless you have already ruled this out too, how about a little tour of NC's wine country? No, really!

Here is a link to a website describing NC's Yadkin Valley wine region:

You could also check out Winston-Salem, a great small city (check out Old Salem, and neat restaurants including West End Cafe, South by Southwest, Nobles, Village Tavern). If you stay in W/S, the Brookstown Inn is nice (and close enough to walk to Old Salem):
