I haven't been a FFR&R poster, but I just wanted to stop in and express my heartfelt sympathy to Patrick and his family.

My sincerest condolences, Patrick. I don't post often, but check in almost daily. I remember you speaking so highly of your mom and you provided her with love and care. May she rest in peace.

Rant: Wilma.....enough already! My heart goes out to all who have endured tragedy from past storms and those in the path of this current one.

Rave: White Sox! (this from a Cubs fan, too)

Rant: Scarlett, Mikemo, and others with ill loved ones.

Rave: CAPH had great news recently!

Rave: loveable kitties.....young and old.

Rave: Statia's Italy trip. Have a great time! Jersey's Ireland trip. Glad you had a great time.

Rave: GoTravel's upcoming marathon. Wow!

Rave: Jorr for posting FFR&R

Happy Weekend all..........sunbabe

"Best get a good bottle of "something". I think you will need it dear one."

Thanks for the suggestion, LoveItaly. While others tonight were hitting the hardware store and Home Depot for batteries, water, etc, I went to the liquor store and got myself two big bottles of Dewars and big bottle of vermouth. If Dry Robroys won't get me through this storm nothing will! I'm now fully prepared!

Hello again Patrick, I am glad you purchased the needed "supplies" for the weekend. And I am having a vodka martini and silently drinking a toast to you and your dear mother and Lee. Take good care my friend.

Patrick, our friend, I think you need a good hurricane party!! I hosted one for Hurricane Rita evacuees from Houston, so you should do the same.

Great idea, LoveItaly, let's all have a cyber toast!! I am drinking a glass of Chilean wine, and I shall now raise it to Patrick, Lee, and Patrick's dear Mom.

seetheworld, I'm so glad to know you will be job-hunting with me. Wouldn't it be great if we both found jobs with some Mega-Corp with offices in both NY and TX, so we'd have to talk on the phone and go to each other's offices?

I so wish I could join you all at the NY/NJ GTG, but who knows, maybe I'll come to the next one?!?! But I'll be there in spirit. Have fun!!

Oh yes, PM, that would be great! Just think, we could linger over lunch and on Fridays we would treat ourselves to a shopping spree and manicures And if there's some time left, we could do a little work

Mikemo: Prayers for your DIL's successful treatment! Does she live in Mexico also or is she far from you?

But do enjoy your evening tonight...How fun!!? I love meeting/making new friends!

I recall a song we learned in GirlScouts long ago:
Make new friends but ke-ep the o-ld,
One is silver and the o-ther gold! \/

Patrick,
My sincere sympathy on the loss of your mother--you'll be in my thoughts in the weeks to come when reality hits and things are the hardest (at least that was my experience with my dad)--your mom sounded like quite a wonderful lady.

Rant: Started getting a cold yesterday and this morning it's full-blown--ugh.

Rave: A full day of college football is ahead, starting with the Cornhuskers in a couple of hours.

Rant: That another 'old time' Vegas hotel is being torn down (the Westward Ho). Wish someone would do some 'historical preservation' in Las Vegas before it's too late. Bring back the neon and coin clinking machines--change isn't always an improvement says the old crabby lady.

Rave: Our basset, Maggie and Whiskers the cat. God Bless pets--they bring so much joy.

Patrick,
I am sorry to hear about your Mom. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Lee and the rest of your family. I know it has been a difficult time for you and your Mom was very blessed to have a son like you.

I also wish you luck with Wilma. After all you have been through these past weeks, then you have to deal with a hurricane. The Rob Roy's sound like a good way to get through it!! Let us know how you're doing.

OSB,
Thanks. She and 2ndS live in lower Manhattan. She has consulted several experienced OB-GYNs, but the collective experience is very limited: I saw 2 maybe 3 in nearly 30 years of dx rad/ob ultrasound practice.
