Peeky, that is really weird! In fact, the only thing worse than a bad blind date would have to be a bad blind date where the person who fixed you up insisted on coming along.

Marilyn, I thought that was weird too. She said it would be better because he is recently divorced and nervous about dating. We are all grown ups though so I don't need a babysitter on a date and I don't know about a man who would want one either. Maybe she just said that, I'm not sure, but I think red flags are flying all around on this one!

peeky, maybe he was nervous and asked the fixer upper to go along ? I am sure he regretted her being there whether he asked or not..too bad. I bet he calls you again and you try it again, without the 'friend"..

Clifton, Bon Voyage! Have a wonderful time!!

We have those signs in our neighborhood..seems like they have gotten worse over the years, haven't they? Here, there are more signs for one than for the other, so the guy down the street has put a second sign out with some sort of 'argument' for his person/sign ... sigh..infantile~

Scarlett,
I kind of think it makes it more fun to have it drag on a day or so.......
Peeky, Hope your next date with this fellow is a bit more focused on you!

Clifton - Yes, go St. Louis Cardinals!
Rant - they lost to the Astro's yesterday, booooooo!

Sunday RAVE (and to aggravate Hyacinth ): GoTravel telling us all about "Winged Migration" months ago. In the last week, I have introduced it to six more people, one of whom has already gone out and bought her own copy!!! Is there anybody who doesn't love it??? Thanks again, GoTravel!

Peeky, I'd say, forget it, The flirtatious fixer-upper and he both showed poor behavior. His looking at his
watch would be the final step for me. You deserve better. BUT, on the other hand, If he does call, go, give him the benefit of a doubt. He may have been clocking his time because of her over active interest

Here's another thought: if she's married, why didn't she bring her husband along? A "double date" would have been more comfortable.

You gals are something else! I don't think I have been around long enough to turn Fodors into my dating forum or is it ok on a rant/rave thread?

I do think he looked at his watch because the friend was knocking herself out and practically lap dancing with him. Yes, where was her husband? Something is fishy in Denmark (that makes this thread travelwise). I think he might be shell-shocked or a bit of a wienie. I might give him a second chance, I'll let you know what he says if he calls.

On the other hand, Peeky, if the guy turns out to be a cad we can arrange a one way ticket for him to Molvania

Sounds like the fixer upper wants your man peeky.

Don't turn your back on her.

Peeky, I think your "friend and your blind date" are or are going to have an affair. Yes, where was her husband?
Think she used you as a convenient excuse to see your date.
Hmmm, just a thought.
Time will tell.
Just don't take it personal. You know the saying "there are a lot of fish out there" although who would want a fish is beyond me.

Good Morning from across the pond!

I would not imagine any chance that I would find all the rants & raves ending on Friday. Are you Americans on a 72 hour day, or some other phenomena? What a chat festival it became. Next week, shall we all confine ourselves to one (1) post ??

Mrs. Slocum -- Richard liked the hat you persuaded me to purchase.

you are welcome, Hyacinth, see, your post has us helping peeky see that was no friend but maybe a manipulator for her own end. I'm Glad Richard liked your hat. Thank goodness for Mr Humphries, who not only designs my hats but can model them.

Ladies, come to find out he is rolling in dough and she told another person that she would easily dump her husband for him.

I personally haven't heard from either one of them so maybe they have run off together.

RAVE: good dinner
RANT: scheming "friends"
