Tiff: my little guys name is Toby. He was picked up as a stray...can't believe it. He's about two or three..young guy. So now he's all micro-chipped and has his tags with address and phone number..etc. However, I don't plan on him straying again. I've had two Lhasas in the past..both crossed the Rainbow Bridge. They aren't for everyone but I just LOVE them, so I was so happy when I found him on the website. I looked for a very long time so it was meant to be. Toby says hi back to Soph.

Welcome, stormsabrewin. And it isn't only to new posters.

Have an adventure.

I hear they are going to build the "new" biggest Mall in America in New Lenox IL- mere miles from me, so I won't have to travel to shop, it seems.
If I'm still here in IL.

Oh, and thanks bennnie, for the thoughts. Hanging in there is it.

mikemo Aug 4th, 2006 12:42 PM

OWJ, color me way stupid as I have just returned from Qro. and made a "real" IT Marinara (albeit with some sweet fresh MX basil) sauce for dinner.
I hope, like Annie Wayte, my DIL, you are with a "critter".
Annie lost their first at six weeks with an IUFD, and the second not much later with a cervical ectopic. She's now about 15-16 weeks.
Buen viaje, mi amiga!
M

That is GREAT news Mikemo about your DIL. I asked about her at the end of FFR&R a couple weeks ago, but I don't think you saw it.

seetheworld Aug 4th, 2006 12:57 PM

Nice news, mike. Best wishes!

LoveItaly Aug 4th, 2006 01:00 PM

Rave: Our California trip is finally here! We have been planning for almost a year.

Rant: School starts in less than a month :0( THis means I have to start getting ready almost as soon as we got back

Rave: Cashed in coins at Commerce Bank and got $130. WE expected $70 at most!

Rave: My husband will be with me for 2 whole weeks! (He normally travels!)

RAVE: LIFE IS GOOD!

RANT: I'm posting jokes on this website through tears today. My younger son broke up with his girlfriend. He'll be staying with us this weekend for emotional help.

I know, time will heal. But this will be later...

At least the older one is fine. For now.

PamSF Aug 4th, 2006 02:59 PM

Oh FA~ how I want to keep the "babies" from their sorrows! If they were my own I'd want it all the more.

Cook for him and keep telling him it will be ok.

PamSF Aug 4th, 2006 03:04 PM

And to Mikemo~good thoughts! What travail!

I want a grandbaby alas!

I am lucky enough to have planty of childrin' in the mix so do not go wanting for shopping opportunities. Our beloved "faux grandaughters" have moved to Switzerland. We will now plan to vacance with them in the next year. Darling niece wants me to shop with her for homecoming gown...sigh..she was just born! I have a jet and crystal necklace just for her and her glorious gown.

Cin Cin BTW~tonight's our 20th and we're cracking a bottle of Merry Edwards Pinot Noir to go with the bbq leg of lamb!

seetheworld Aug 4th, 2006 03:04 PM

Rant: As sistahlou said, "there no figs in my hood" too! :(

We've been enjoying them all summer -- I guess the season's over!

HELP...Can anyone suggest a way to marinate some rock fruits (peaches, nectarines) - I was thinking in some sort of alcohol, preferably something I have in the house. Thanks!

PamSF Aug 4th, 2006 03:09 PM

Hey~sprinkle those stone fruits with a mixture of brown and whit sugar and then grill sugar side down...we served same with Hagen Daz Dulche de LEche ice cream and were beside ourselves!

BTW~ we are celebrating this pm (our 20th) with a salad that includes grilled figs with proscuitto..!!

seetheworld Aug 4th, 2006 03:10 PM

Happy Anniversay PamSF!! ((f))

Sorry Faina, give him lots of hugs!

seetheworld Aug 4th, 2006 03:26 PM

You're lucky Pam! Enjoy the figs!

Your dessert sounds perfect, maybe I'll do that instead! Thanks. :)

Kal Aug 4th, 2006 03:34 PM

Rave.
Same price as last year, at least it didn't go up.
