Rant: Having to stay one extra day in Atlanta due to two storms, then a mechanical problem on our jet, then our pilot being out of his allotted time to fly and the flight then being cancelled.
By the way, our luggage continued to BWI on the next flight out!!

Rave: The gate agent at B13 in Atlanta on Sunday evening at 9:30 PM for re-booking us, together, for the next day; he did this after I said we couldn't stand in the line of 200 people due to my daughter not feeling well - he was so kind! Also, to Thomas from the Best Western who sort of kidnapped us to his hotel (by telling us the Days Inn and the Best Western are the same thing!!)- then took us and a group of five women I didn't know to a restaurant at 11:00 PM because we were starving. We had a wonderful time with these complete strangers. There are truly some wonderful, kind people in the south!! Thank you!

Ani: I, too, have a 17 month old daughter that loves to say, "NO!".

Rant: Husband called me at work yesterday to tell me that we needed to buy a new toilet. Apparently, he dropped the lid off our toilet and cracked both the bowl and tank causing water to spray everywhere.

Rave: It was a pretty funny story; however, it took my husband a little while to see the humor!

Rave: Our old toilet was pink, so now we'll get a normal colored toilet!

Rant: A white or beige toilet won't match the pink bathtub! (The bathroom hasn't been updated since the late 40's).

Rave: My husband's a pretty good sport and damn good Mr. Fix-It. We'll see how good he is at plumbing after this weekend!

Rave--Leaving this afternoon to go backpacking for the weekend in the Wallowas (NE part of Oregon).

Rant--Had the 2nd ultrasound for DS to recheck. Lymph nodes are the same exact size as several months ago. So, not bad news, but not what we had hoped for and it surprised the doctor. Will wait a few more months, recheck, then if the same will opt for surgery to know once and for all. DS is glad it can wait til after football season, lol! Like I said, it is not bad news though...and the doctor here and specialist in CA are very optimistic. Just wish I had the good news now though.

Rave--DH flew home from his trip early this week

Rant--Had to put up fencing around my tomatos as the dog would not stay out of them.

Rave--I have to give Beachbum some thanks. He came to one of our local fundraisers for our sons football team and it raised a lot of money for the group. Gotta love when people help out for things like that!

And for all those with school starters in the next week or two, at any level- know that grandmas cry too sometimes.

My sweetheart is going to full time kindergarten (Aug.29) and came to take a jet-spray bath last night for fun. When he said goodbye he started to cry and said that he couldn't come for tubbies any more because he was going to be in school now and he was going to miss them VERY MUCH. Those big black eyes blinking almost broke my heart.

I told him that he could come and take one on Saturdays. But I cried after the car pulled away. What a heartthrob!

Rave: vacation starts next week and the US Open after that!

Rant: Jorr just can't help himself from making political comments.

Rave: kids are finished with soccer, lacrosse, etc and are enjoying days at the beach.

RANT: DS is suspiciously silent out there at Camp Pendleton. He's supposed to get out of the Marines in Jan after 4 years, 2 Iraq duties and 1 Purple Heart.

Another Rant: Minnesota is the latest state to rule that cold medicines have to be doled out by pharmacies. Now you have to wait in line, show your driver's license, wait for paper work, sign the paper work, and pay seperately. I recently got a perscription from my doctor for a controled narcotic and they didn't even ask for identification, and that was at the drive-thru! How about a little consistency at least.

Meth makers only need to go across the state boarder where there are no restrictions on cold medicines (pseudoephedrine). But maybe it will somehow curb the problem. There are so many people in my area who are addicted to meth.

Low carb diet seems to have fixed my elderly/arthritic/abused knees. I can now get up from chair without holding on to table (after 6 months of progressively getting worse). It's a michaia (they do creak, but don't hurt).

Mower won't start. Half cut lawn is jungle, and will not get this yard the neighbor of the year award.

OWJ-Congratulations on your new kitten! We picked up a stray 4 years ago who had a fluffy tail, which soon became a fluffy body. Never could think of an appropriate name so she became Fluffy. Not very original, but fitting.

Rant: Have to move offices-am losing a lovely view. PM-I like to office ghost idea...I'll have to try that one!

Rave: Still have my job and I really like my co-workers.

Rave: Next weekend is a short trip to Savannah to see friends.

swalter: how far along are you? Ignore those who say it'll get better (nicer than smacking them) and just concentrate on keeping something down, even if it's Doritos (my crack cocaine right now). There are a few things you can take to ease the yuckiness - ask your Dr. about Unisom and/or B6 (safe, and used to be sold together about 15 years ago). Good luck!

Rave: The fantastic and fun dinner I had with Cobbie last Saturday night. Beautiful restaurant, wonderful service and fantastic food but I think with Cobbie's personality any shared meal would be enjoyable.

Rave: DD and SIL came over this week and we did a "clean sweep" of my place and consequently got rid of tons of unnecessary and no longer needed items. Salvation Army has already picked everything up.

Rave: The cool weather the Sacramento Valley is now enjoying. It is paradise.

Rant: The job my 19 year old GS acquired some weeks ago, and which he has loved, no longer exsist. The company hired about 15 new employees, promoted my GS in a matter of days and then the middle of this week laid off all the new employees as they claimed they "made a mistake" and did not need them. I won't express my feelings on this situation as it is not printable.

Rave: GS was on the computer at 8:00am the next morning checking out jobs and had one interview yesterday and another one today. No sulking or feeling sorry for himself so I am so proud of him.
