Re falling up the stairs - I do it all the time. It's a bizarre feeling and you're lucky not to bite your tongue or bruise your shin.

Falling down the stairs, on the other hand, is quite dangerous.

seetheworld Jun 9th, 2006 08:08 PM

It is a bizzare feeling Suzie. I was wearing a raincoat over my suit (a lot of flowing fabric). My left foot got caught in my right pant leg and I couldn't untangle myself. I felt like I was going in slow motion. My reaction was to pull my Portfolio in front of my face. Let's just say that I am turning many shades of green at the moment.

Falling down the stairs, on the other hand, happens really fast. Or at least that was my experience.

Rant: A friday that is busier than usual

Rave: At least being able to have a job and work on a friday,

Hey, I am trying to think on the bright side..... ;)

LoveItaly Jun 9th, 2006 08:44 PM

Hi STW, I do hope you will be alright! The time I fell going up the stairs was late in the evening after a long and trying day at the office. I had a long bathrobe on, some slipon slippers and I was carrying a large load of just washed and dried laundry. Sort of like you, my foot/slipper caught in the robe and..well you know the rest. Very embarrasing. Do take care, and I am so glad that you didn't end up with any broken bones.

seetheworld Jun 9th, 2006 08:57 PM

Hi LoveItaly. I'll be just fine. A good reminder to slow down and I was lucky, no broken anything! All I have are some bruises and a reminder of it while I sleep when I try and turn over in bed. Gosh it's almost 1am! Have a nice weekend! :)

gomiki: Thanks for the thoughts. I called the dr. today and they recommended 2 vets that also board animals. I am checking with them. Pup is much more alert today, but not walking. That makes it harder, but we will get through it.
Happy Saturday!

GoTravel, No problem. I hate cake! In fact I hate all almost all sweets and desserts. :-O

Have you ever tried to convince someone that you don't want any birthday cake or dessert because you don't eat it? Most times they think you are kidding and put it in front of you anyway. I once reqested a cheese ball and crackers for my office birthday party. Guess what I got. A chocolate cake.

LoveItaly, I'm glad the sun screen gift worked. Save a life and ring a bell.

gomiki Jun 10th, 2006 10:03 AM

iw, I will be thinking about you and your pup.

Rant: It is still raining here..5 days and..I just picked off 2 big slugs. I hate slugs.

Rave: All the good news here.

Saraho and seetheworld, I hope you both feel better soon.

Suzie Jun 10th, 2006 12:09 PM

hey jorr I hate cake too. It's just too..., well, cakey. No one knows what to do for my birthday. My advice - I've had enough of them now. so skip it!

Cookies on the other hand....

AnnMarie_C Jun 10th, 2006 12:50 PM

peeky Jun 10th, 2006 08:51 PM

you are all so cute and sweet - sweet dreams.

jorr Jun 10th, 2006 10:21 PM

I say we substitute birthday cakes with dill pickle potato chips.

Stand up America and toss that cake in the trash. How different is this from bra burning in the seventies?

fun4all4 Jun 11th, 2006 03:28 AM

Rant: I haven't posted in a couple of weeks and I'm late this week. So busy!

Rant/Rave: Spent 4 days this week as a juror in a murder trial. It was stressful and time consuming. But, I feel so fortunate to live in a place where we have the right to trial by jury.

Rave: Both kids out of school for the summer.

Rave: Leave on Friday for Berner Oberland and Northern Italy trip!

Rant: So much to do in order to be ready to go.

Rant: Fellow Fodorites with injuries (feel better STW and saraho) or other bad news.

Rave: The many raves this week - good health news and more.

fun4all4 Jun 11th, 2006 03:42 AM

Oops...Forgot one of my biggest Raves:

Rave: World Cup!!!!

AnnMarie_C Jun 11th, 2006 04:08 AM

Oh yeah Scarlett--that's what I'm talking about! German Chocolate cake is my absolute favorite cake!! :-)

lol, Jorr! I've had fried dill pickles and the dill pickle potato chips. One word, yum! But give me cake on my birthday and nobody gets hurt! ;-)

P_M Jun 11th, 2006 11:05 AM

jorr, you know you're my pal and we have a lot in common, but cake-bashing is an abomination!! Not liking cake or any other form of sweets is like saying you don't like air!! :-O You must have an abnormality of the palate, otherwise you would love sweets like everyone else does.

:-))

Just kidding, of course. You know how to find me, so the next time someone gives you one of those pesky chocolate cakes, just send it my way, and I'll send you a cheese ball in return. Is it a deal? :-)

seetheworld Jun 11th, 2006 11:15 AM

fun4all, have a nice trip!! :)

Scarlett Jun 11th, 2006 11:27 AM

Scarlett Jun 11th, 2006 11:28 AM
