LoveItaly, I have had quite a few of those pre cancer spots burned off as well in the past years. One was right between my eyes on the bridge of my nose. They use liquid nitrogen to burn "freeze" them off. Its painless but does leave a scab and is much better than ending up with MM. My mind set is that my MM is gone, Period. I actually quit worrying about the MM the day of my surgery as I was being brought back home in really bad pain from swelling. My focus went to warning other people about it. I had a surgeon who was a leader in new MM successful surgery and technique. I think its called MOAS surgery. I can not remember the name of the surgeon but the technique is practiced everywhere now. It involves proforming several immediate biopsies in the opened area as the surgery takes place and takes several hours.

This friend of yours is too full of excusses. I'll bet she walks right by the sunscreen to grab the makeup at the store. Maybe you could buy her a birthday gift of makeup that has sunscreen in it and tell her its the latest Hollywood craze. LOL but serious.

I do not know who the artist of the Clinton portrait is. The media has not mentioned the artist's name probably because he is an unknown who knows little about portraiture. Maybe I will do a search and find a link to the artist and the portrait.

Here is a pricture of the portait. Also notice that he does not have a wedding ring on (which he always wears), The position of his first and second fingers as viewed from the back side of the fingers which has sexual connotasions, the news paper hanging from his crotch area, his crotch in front of the fire chamber of the fire place, and his hand pulling back his jacket to show his crotch. I didn't come up with all of this, I have heard all of these points in the national media.

Newspapers can't even get it straight who painted this pathetic thing. The Austin American-Statesman claims it was created by a man maned Simmie. Other papers claim it was painted by a man named Nelson Shank. They even show photos of the artists in some newspapers.

About my neighbor/friend. She does have a birthday coming up so your idea about makeup with sunscreen is great jorr. And your comment about her waltzing by the sunscreen on her way to buy makeup is so true, she goes shopping almost every day. That is what I find so annoying..and again, considering her history how could she "forget" to buy sunscreen, sigh. You always have the best suggestions, thank you.

Hi PM and Caph...nice to be thought of.

Rave: Bought a beautiful new suit for an interview this week.

Rant: Doubled over in pain and on the verge of fainting while walking up Greenwich Ave (on the way to get the beautiful new suite altered).

Rant: Spent 10 hours in the ER on a glorious Saturday.

I found out the following:

#1... not pregnant
#2...CAT showed no appendicitis
#3...CAT showed lots of little kidney stones in both kidneys
#4...must go to doctor for a sonnogram and a bit of surgery
#5...never ignore a three-week problem as it will catch up with you!

Oh, and I never made it to the tailor to get my suit altered. Tomorrow I will get on my knees and beg, beg, beg because I look really great in that suit!

Rave: I was feeling sad for a bit, but now I feel better. My DH and I are planning a vacation just for ourselves. The sons are good too -- youngest happy about his new job and oldest is preparing for a new adventure.

I have to catch up on the FFR&R reading, but as always, I wish everyone peace.

GT, he's definitely lost weight since that heart scare. Don't know whether he's that thin tho'. Whatever anyone may have to say about him, I don't think there's any doubt that he's an extremely intelligent man (which is not to say that he didn't make some poor choices!). A few months back I saw him on one of the talk shows and was struck anew with the power of his intellect. Wish I could say the same about our current president!

STW, so glad to see your post! But very sorry to hear about the kidney stones. I hope they're able to resolve them in a relatively painless way. A few years back my MIL had the thing where they put you in water and use something to break up the stones. Don't remember the details. But it seemed to go well for her.

I'm really glad to hear that you're feeling less down. As I said on your trip thread, I really think this is all going to wind up working out well for you.

That would be lithotripsy. They break the stones with Extracorporeal shock waves ..under water. It works.

Thanks, Scarlett! I knew there was a name for it. And, had it been me who'd had the treatment, I might have remembered it!

I know my MIL had great success with it. As I said, that was a few years back and she's never had any more trouble.

Thanks LoveItaly and Caph. The kidney stones were not the cause of my distress, but a problem that is a little too delicate to speak about on this forum. The kidney stones were just an added bonus of information due to the CAT scan, lol. Something to "look foward" to sometime in the future -- ouch!

But I am encourage to hear about a way to get rid of the little trouble makers! They are indeed very painful -- passed one about 10 years ago. I should have known there were more lurking around!

Rave: Have a lovely dinner for my DH and his identical twin brother in my house. The boys cooked the lobster, seafood linguine dinner. I did the rest of the work. Nice to have family together.

Rant: DH liked his gift of a firepit until his brother mentioned the fact that the firepit will draw attention from neighbors when he wants solitude and total privacy in the backyard from neighbors at night.

Rant: Having 21 year old DD home and accepting her wanting her freedom as if she were away at college.

Rave: DD dating two young men at the same time. Good for her self esteem.

Just wanted to remind everyone that Mother's Day is coming soon. For those of us who have lost our mothers, keep them in your heart every day. I was truly blessed to have a wonderful mother who was literally my best friend. We spent a lot of time together, and she was so close with her granddaughters. I think it is a shame that we devote one day to thank our moms. Don't wait til that day to show your appreciation. Do it all year long. The one thing is that my mom knew I truly loved her, and I have no regrets. The night before she died unexpectedly, I went to visit her in the hospital at night, got into the bed with her and watch TV and laughed with her. If your mom is still alive, please let her know how much you care all year long, not just on one day.

Rave: While my husband and I were checking out a nearby "Irish pub" this afternoon I overheard a conversation at the table behind us. I never did see the speaker but, judging from her voice and story, I'm assuming that she was a fairly young lady. I heard her telling her companions that her brother's girlfriend had gotten pregnant during their senior year of high school. She said that they'd gotten married and now had three children. My first thought was "oh, Jeez!" But then I heard her carry on with the story. She said that her brother had finished high school and that his wife had tried. But the baby had gotten very sick and been in the hospital. The mother was with the baby day and night and hadn't been able to get her work done and therefore hadn't been able to graduate.

However, she went on to say that while the father was working, the mother went back to school and got her nursing degree! She said that now that the mother has a good job, the father is going to college. She went on to say that, once the father finishes college they'll really be rolling in it! (Her words!)

I was so impressed! This young couple could so easily have used their troubles as an excuse to wind up on welfare. Or, at the very least, to spend their lives eeking out a living at menial jobs. I just thought this was a very uplifting story!

CAPH, I really think the trend is that people seem to be getting married younger and staying married.

I know my generation was taught that the 1950s housewives were suppressed and that we should break the glass ceiling and have it all. As a result, at 40, very few of my girlfriends have kids and the one that does, does not want to marry the father. They are a long time relationship couple, live together and have accumulated wealth and had the baby by choice.

I think the generation behind my generation learned that you can't have it all.

While I will agree that Clinton is better expressing himself with words (hence the 'Slick Willie' label), I do not agree that he is more intelligent than the current Pres. And yes, they both have made significant mistakes in my judgement.
