Life is good. Life is good. Life is good.

There are some rants, but just don't want to go there.

Happy Friday and weekend, everyone!

I usually post on Europe board but I'm happy and want to share.
Rant: My son did not get into University of California Berkeley, his first choice.
Raave: He did get into UCLA, his second choice and is happy. He's happy so I'm happy. Have a good weekend everyone. Barb

Rant: 40 days and 40 nights of rain now. Get out my ark!

Rant: Car accident today. I doubt the weather was a factor in this one, though.

Rave: Never a dull moment!!

Raves:

Spent Tues/Wed(My weekend) doing absolutely nothing at home with daughter. Never even turned the phone on(only use a cell)No interruptions and great quality time..and I didn't even stress if the bedroom got messy

Feeling like I have friends at work and not just coworkers..something I took for granted until I moved across the country

Being able to return the citronella dog collar to PetSmart for a refund, thanks to Frankie's apparent attraction to that smell..he like to go to Sister's house,so maybe that's what he was after all along!

Rave..or rant? Kaelan informing me tonight that we are going to get a new Daddy tomorrow. No pressure there, huh? Then again, she also said we're going to IHOP for pancakes, and on a cruise to Disney for her birthday...her little 3 year old mind goes a million miles per hour...and even the sad thoughts can bring out a smile and a laugh!

No Rants from me this week either.

Raves: Spent most of the week just having fun. Took advantage of no rain two different mornings sitting in the patio of my favorite cafe enjoying coffee and the fresh air and good conversations. Spent all day Tuesday with my almost 20 year old grandson. We even went shopping as he "needed" silk ties. What a change from the black tshirts and sweatshirts and jeans he lived in while in highschool.

A dear friend is expecting a baby. I am so excited.

Another lovely friend is coming Saturday night as we are going to our favorite restaurant and will catch up on our lives over fantastic food and good wine.

Daylightsavings time starts this weekend. I can hardly wait for it to be lighter for a longer period in the evenings.

And I know the rain HAS to stop at some point. It just has to!!

Taxes filed, didn't owe any money, I say with a good sigh.

Everyone in my life is well and happy.

One of my grandsons who is a chef had a beautiful write up about him in his city's newspaper.

Got a clean bill of health from my doctor. That always makes one feel years younger.

Life is good and spring weather is surely around the corner.

Blessings to all of you, have a great weekend.

Rant: I hate DST.

Rave: I live in Arizona. I don't have to deal with DST.

Rave: Going to Kauai in 55 days. I still don't have to deal with DST.

Rave: I saw my highest rated member, so far, of the female gender yesterday (9.5).

Rant: She wouldn't even give me the time of day.

Rave: Going to San Diego in September for a week.

Rave: My car hasn't been in the shop at all this month.

Rave: Life is good.

Rave: Absolutely gorgeous weather here in MA this week. Skipped the gym in favor of a 5 mile walk outside, TWICE.

Rant: Despite walking on a treadmill 4-5 times a week, walking outside makes a variety of muscles/tendons/joints hurt.

Rave/Rant: MCAS testing (state mandated standardized tests)is over. Although I think the whole thing is in some ways a huge waste of time and energy (especially for the school admins.), I did enjoy having the in-school time to get correcting and other work done.

Rave: Coworkers that are fun/funny.

Rave: He's baaack! There is a small, private airport a few miles from our house. One of the guys who keeps a plane there is an amazing stunt pilot and when the weather warms up, he's out practicing/perfoming. As I type, he's doing double loops, flying upside down, diving, making sharp quarter turns. Don't know who he is, but a neighbor says he performs at air shows all across Europe. We get to watch him for free

Rave: brother in law has business in Oxford next week, so he's flying into London today and will spend the week-end with us.

Rant: I have to clean the house from top to bottom to make it guest presentable. Oh well, had to do it sometime.

Big Rave: On Tuesday I passed my first USFSA test!

Rave: This week our 17 year old energy challenged clothes dryer and 10 year old washing machine were replaced with a shiny new matching set.

Rant: Yesterday afternoon I was bit on the wrist by the seasons first mosquito--my hands were full so he remains at large.

Rave: DH birthday is tomorrow.

Curious: The skunk that had taken up residence under the deck has disappeared.

Minor Rant: My new toaster oven ticks while toasting (like a clock) and dings loudly when done. Why can't it just be quiet in the morning like everything else in my house??

And if that's my biggest rant, I'd say life is pretty dang good!

Rave: My dog's surgery went well yesterday and she's back to bugging me about playing with her ball and wanting food. I just love my little girl!

BTilke--I'd swear you lived by me. We have a private airport literally a field away from my little cul-de-sac, and we have been watching our favorite pilot, too. I love showing my 3-yr-old the loops and dives. He loves watching it.

Babs--Congrats to your son. My seniors are all getting their acceptances, so it is really fun to see all their happy faces. I'm impressed with our graduating class this year.

klr--Glad to hear that you and DD are enjoying your time together. Keep it up. DS is now saying that he's going to have a baby sister soon--maybe he knows something I don't?

Scarlett--I'm happy to know you had a great visit with your son. I hope that you get to see him again real soon.

LoveItaly--I loved reading what you wrote this morning. What a wonderful outlook on life. Here's to your clean bill of health. Salut!

jamaltay--Maybe you'll meet your 10 soon, and she'll give you the time of day. Heck--let it be in Kauai...

AnnMarie--Congrats!!! By the way, it is getting easier as time goes by. I still have some hard moments like when I am driving alone, but for the most part, I'm starting to focus more on the good things rather than the guilt and sadness.

Rave: I re-planted flowers to replace the ones killed by the frost. These look even better.

Rave: Rains came, so I didn't have to water.

Rave: I accepted a job at a new high school. I'll miss the school I'm in now--esp. the kids and staff--but I'm going to a higher paying school district and better benefits. Yea!

Rave: The reaction I'm getting from all my students. It is reinforcing the reasons I love being a teacher.

No rants...have a beautiful and blessed weekend, everyone!

Rave: LoveItaly's clean bill of health.

Rave: AnnMarie's skating ability, and passing her test. Well done!!

Rave: klr, good luck finding a new Daddy today.

Rave: starrsville's life is good.

Rant: MelissaHI's accident.

Rave: Daylight Savings Time. I don't like the adjustment to DST, but I sure like that extra hour of sunshine in the evenings.

Rave: I finished my taxes this week and didn't have to pay. We're getting back a whopping $91!! Should we spend or invest it? :-?

Rave: As some of you know there has been some turmoil in my family lately. But things have calmed down and we are now in a holding pattern until further notice. Therefore I have decided to carry on with my plans for my London/Madeira trip. I'm leaving a week from today!! WOOHOO!! Of course I will post my R&R's before going to the airport.

stw, I hope your son is feeling better and I hope you did not get sick.

I am rantless today. Happy weekend, all!!

Rave: This weekend is my niece's Bat Mitzvah! Wonderful accomplishment for her and tons of family and friends in town for the special event and celebration.

Rave: Wonderful young woman who babysat my kids when she was in high school, college and even sometimes after she started teaching kindergarten (from when my kids were babies till almost teens) just had her first child yesterday!! A healty 7 lb. 4 oz. baby girl - can't wait to see her. Maybe my teens can now babysit for her and her husband.

Rave: Great time visiting sister and BIL in LA last week with younger son (12).

Rant: Stressful week trying to do so much for so many and feeling a little underappreciated.

Rave: My dear DH is so supportive!

Rant: I seem to have the same new toaster as travel_addict ....it is driving me mad!

Rave: I LOVE Spring.

To all of you with too much rain, please send some to us in VA....the driest March here on record - since at least 1917.

BabsB - Congrats to you and your son!

klr6773 - You sound like you are hanging in there. Good for you!

MelissaHI- Hope all is ok from the car accident.

Scarlett - Glad you had such a great time with your son.

LoveItaly - So much wonderful - from the big to the simple.

divingaggie - Congrats on new job. Glad to hear you are doing well.

viaggio sempre - Enjoy your weekend away - sounds like you could use the break.

Everyone: Have a great weekend! Life is good, and I feel fortunate.

Rant - We no longer have a back deck.
Rave - We no longer have a back deck because we tore it down to make room for a new family room addition!

Rant - The dog is confused by the absence of the deck. She now has to go out the front door which she previously had been trained not to do. So now she stands where the steps of the back deck used to be and cries. Poor thing!

Rave: MCAS testing means no homework for DD and we are loving the extra time together.

Babs - congratulations to your son.

Jorr - I'm enjoying that show also though I only watch half because then I have to watch The Office.

MelissaHi - I hope no one one was injured in the accident.

Divingaggie - good luck with the new job.

fun4all - congratulations to your niece

Ani - I remember the weekly posts before your baby was born. Time flies!

JJ5 - you haven't posted yet but I hope all is calm with your family. Prayers are going out for you.

To all planning trips - have fun and enjoy these opportunities.

Eeva - MCAS testing is a mixed bag. I like the validation that it provides but the stress it places on some kids is overwhelming. My kids excel so I don't have to worry but special needs kids struggle unfairly.
