Rant: secondhand smoke. I'm sick of the stench.

Rave: Minnesota is considering a ban on smoking in all bars, restaurants, and public buildings which would take effect on July 1st. \/

Rant: Ice and rain forecast for this weekend, yuck!
Rant: Needed to get house ready to put on market, now it's going to rain.
Rant: Catering a party tomorrow and have to carry heavy stuff in and out, and it's going to be raining/icy, I just know I'm going to fall on my butt with a pan of hot food!
Rave: Booked quick trip to Richmond as surprise for DH in May.
Rave: Just got 2 tix to NASCAR race for what I thought I'd have to pay for one!
Rave: Mass. lottery up to $222 Million for tonight's game - heading out to buy 5 tix - will definitely be travelling much more if I win!

Rant: jor does not know what month it is! What is the world coming to?

Rant: I'm spending the day organizing our tax info. How can I stand to have so much fun, you may wonder?

Rave: Phil Flash finally finished The Da Vinci Code so I can read it. I have 4 days before we leave for NY, and since it's hardback I ain't carrying it. Taxes ... Da Vinci ... taxes ... Da Vinci ... such a difficult choice.

Rant: Another rainstorm in the Bay Area. Man, am I sick of this weather!

Rant: Getting closer to the March trip that you fodorites helped me plan to hike in Zion and Bryce for the first time, but all of a sudden my right knee is really bothering me this wk. Was told my orthopedist a few yrs ago that I will need total knee replacement in "next 5-10 yrs." but now the reality is hitting, and I have this great hiking trip planned w/close friend, took us a yr to get this trip on the books for both of us.

Rave: Sorry others are still in the cold, but our winter has broken in D.C. area and it is sunny and mid-50s for a few days.

Rave: Going shopping for a new car this weekend. Guess that's both a rant and rave- hate to spend the $$ but also hate to admit my current car is 15 yrs old and doesn't even have air bags.

Sam, good luck w/the ice. I got so tired of falling during our ice storm a few wks ago that I used kitty litter, and am trying to get it off the fresh asphalt driveway and steps. What a mistake.

Rant: Can't find a reasonably priced flight from Key West to Tampa in May for my niece's graduation! (Going for $312.00 right now!)

Rave: Get to spend the whole month of May in the Keys!

Rant: Fedex delivered my new laptop to my neighbours yesterday when I wasn't home. Neighbours weren't home all night. Had visions of total stranger forging the neighbours' signature and absconding with my laptop.
Rave: Neighbours called me an hour ago. They are home. They have my laptop. All is well!

Rant: Those creepy nasty Quiznos rats on the Quiznos commercials. What's up with that?

RAVE: It is 72 degrees here right now!!

Rave: Jor, dude, you are in definite need of a vacation! That Fargo cold is freezing your brain!

Rant: Those creepy CREEPY Quiznos rats, arghhh!

Rant: Have to plan 3 chore-trips for June, back to back. Why can't life distribute itself better?

Rave: It's 70 in North Carolina today. The birds know spring is coming, but they're still not getting up before around 7, which is fine.

Rave: So far today, no one has been tediously nasty or stooput on Fodors'. I don't think getting the wrong month, jor, counts as stooput -- I still date my checks with the year starting as 19__ and then have to change it.

I am jealous of Sam. We West-Coasters only have a few "easy" choices for NASCAR races. H & I held season tix for CA Speedway until this year-too many kids, too many races, too many bucks! Next year!

To HoJo: Wish you could come to the race! I really never thought of you west-coasters and how far it is to travel to the tracks! I thought we had it bad in Boston until they started racing @ NHIS. Don't forget to go to Las Vegas Motor Speedway and take their track tour. We went a few years ago and they took us to the owner's suite and a few laps in the van around the track @ 100mph...very cool!

Rave: Life is good; Maui is near.

RANT: Rain is predicted for the next week.

RAVE: Rain is welcome in our parched neck of the woods.
