Forbes Museum in NYC

It appears that the Forbes Museum no longer has the large collection of Fabrege Eggs that it had many years ago. Does anyone know if they sold ALL of them? From their website it looks like they only have the collections of toy soldiers, boats, and a few other things, but not the eggs. Is the gallery still worth a look?

The Forbes Faberge collection, including the eggs, was sold in 2004 to Russian who planned to repatriate them eventually.

Since I'm not a big fan of toy soldiers or toy boats, I find it more interesting to visit when there's a special exhibit that's of interest. The current temporary exhibits are due to change in Sept. but it doesn't list what will follow them. There was an exhibit of French jewelry last year at around this time that was fantastic.

It is still worth a visit, esp. since it is free, but as of about a month ago, the permanent collection area (toys, boats, soldiers) was closed for renovation; better call and check as what was on display was not visit worthy.
