PamSF, Weddings in San Francisco? this was an exhibit? I was out there for a wedding, that would have been neat to see.
The reception was fabulous, they hired FDR's presidential yacht for a 3 hour cruise around the bay, under the GG Bridge, etc. it was really fabulous!
dang. before I die I must live in San Francisco. No wonder it is so expensive there! everyone wants in.

Flygirl-- the exhibit that Pam referenced is of gay weddings that took place at City Hall.
Kal--I've actually only seen one car with a Bush/Cheney sticker, but I believe the occupant was left unharmed. You would get more reaction if the SUV you referenced was taking up two parking spaces--that we just don't tolerate.
Pam great list--save it for future What to do in SF questions.

PamSF: you have the best and most fab ideas for SF! Thanks for the list!
Mexican Museum? Where is that? Haven't seen it as yet - must schedule it in sometime!
An SUV sporting a Bush-Cheney sticker in SF? Must be a visitor from Orange County. Actually, I'm waiting for the Bullwinkle cartoons to come back and then the reopening of that Bullwinkle store for left-handed people on Market. Anyone remember that store?

All of the above and:
The view of the Marin Headlands
and GG Bridge from the Legion of Honor.
Or walking on the coast trail in that area.
Liverpool Lil's.
A ferry ride anywhere, but especially
to a BB game at SBC!
Prowling the shops on Sacramento street.

Mexican museum is at fort Mason I think.
BayArea, thank you for food recommendation.

Ditto to Pam, Kal and Dovima. Also:
The golden, pinkish light that appears sometimes right before sunset;
Sailboats dotting the bay;
The view of the Farralones from the Golden Gate Bridge on a clear day;
The Gay Freedom Day Parade;
Barry Bonds parking one in McCovey Cove at SBC Park;
The people in kayaks who try to retrieve the baseballs;
Any ride on a cable car;
Being a kid again at the Exploratorium;
The lights of the Bay Area as seen from the Top of the Mark.

The steps on Green St. this thread has brought back a ton of memories of my 5 years living in SF.
Razzledazzle, are you telling me Liverpool Lils is still out there on Lyon? I used to love that place. We went to The Brazenhead more often but Lils was often on the extensive pub crawl that was part of a typical weekend in the 80s.
i lived on Russian Hill and the views were amazing from my roof top. For a while we lived above I fratellis on Hyde and Green and was able to run down and put mu name in for dinner and then enjoy a shower or a glass of wine until the called us down.
Took the cable car to work daily and got to knpw many of the guys who operate those wonderful cars...wow, now I am really nostalgic for those days.

Yup, it's still there and the food is still quite good! So many "must do"
places in the city and yet we find ourselves wandering to Lil's. When I lived in SF I was on Pacific & Baker,
so driving home from Lil's was easy.
I remember Il Fratelli-great location
for you!

I live close to that San Francisco wannabe town, you know the one
Bring a bottle of vino! What the heck! Bring the Nyquil too!
Then we'll drive up and visit SAB, dovima, PamSF, marilyn, and all the rest of the beautiful people!
