Message: Please include city/state/region name in message title, EVEN if you are picking a state from the "keyword list"

Message: I've noticed a lot of ambiguous message titles lately, and many people responding in frustration along the lines of "Why don't you say what state/city you're talking about?!?!
Posters AND readers may not realize/remember that when you post a message you are given the option of both a message and a 'keyword'.
For example, someone might use "best hotel" as a message and choose "arizona" from the keyword list, not realizing that the keyword does NOT show up in the message title or text, and is only useful for searching among all the posts.
I really enjoy this forum, but I don't want to 'waste' my time reading posts on topics I thought were about something else, nor do I think posters deserve rude (ok, frustrated)
responses to their posts because they are unaware of how the system works.
If you kind Fodorites agree with me, why not bump this message up periodically so others can take note of it.
Thank you !

You can take food with you. Shelf stable milk is not the best but it will certainly do for cereal. I have devoted an entire suitcase to food when going on a two week camping trip to an area where food is expensive. Tuna fish is now available pre-mixed or in vacuum pouches. Bring along some basic tools such as a knife (but don't have it in your carryon) and plastic ware. A hot pot or heating coil is helpful for making soups. Due to flight delays and plane problems we have ended up at destination late at night and hungry so I have also packed a lunch in a small insulated bag in my carryon which can then be used for beach picnics. The worst was when 'the food elevators are working' on a flight which finally deposited us at the airport after everything had closed and then got to a hotel after everything there had closed. Hope you have a great time on your trip!

This is terrible advice but I will give it anyway. Can't remember stores exact location but the best food store prices are of course outside of Waikiki. If they do not have a car bus it to AlaMoana Shopping Center. There is a Safeway over there. Ideally you want to go to the Safeway near Aunti Pastos sorry that is my best memory on location. I would look on line. The most ideal thing they could do is go to Costco out in Pearlridge I believe. Correct me out there locals if you know the correct location. You can also get cheap cheap produce in China Town fresh and broad in variety. The Waikiki shops will rob yah. Check out cheap listing for Oahu also.

you are close Sarah! There is a small foodland at Ala moana Center lower level. There is a nice food court in the middle of the mall, downstairs of Neiman marcus. The Safeway is up about 7 blocks towards the mountain in the 1100 block of Beretania. An easier supermarket would be straight up Kalakaua Avenue (it is two ways outside Waikiki)to where it ends on Beretania, then right next door to the mormon temple is a big Foodland. It has a nice gourmet food section and a wine shop. Costco is out in the Salt Lake area- inland of the airport. Another Costco is out in Hawaii Kai--last town before Hanauma Bay where you go snorkeling.

Trust me you won't starve to death in Waikiki - for one thing there are ABC (like 7/11 - convenience stores) all over the place on practically every corner. They sell all sorts of snack foods, milk, bread, etc. as well as lots of other stuff. There are regular grocery stores (Safeway) as well as others have mentioned.
