Fodorites NYC Get-Together!!
A number of Fodorites have expressed an interest to meet up in NYC this January or February to share in some good travel stories and plans, and a nice brunch/ luncheon/ dinner. We are looking for suggestions for a good restaurant that would be able to accomodate a group and conveniently located for people arriving into town from main transportation lines. Please feel free to post here any ideas or e-mail Maira or CMT at
[email protected]
Please specify preference as far as brunch (Sunday), lunch, or dinner. Once we have a better idea of date and place, I intend to pass along an invitation to the Fodor's organization that have provided such fun venue for us travel nuts !
. Looking forward to hear from you guys and gals!! Let's have some fun with this!!

I'm "cmt" who posts on the Europe forum, but rarely, if ever, on the US forum. That e-mail address that Maira posted was set up specifically for organizing the GTG. But if you happen to know either of us and already correspond with us fairly regularly, you can use our own personal e-mail addresses (not posted here). It would help if people kept this thread active. You can also post on the NYC GTG thread on the Europe forum: http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...2&tid=34467858 . What we really need is a New York City resident willing to volunteer to suggest a restaurant and make the reservations. I'd be happy to help with other aspects of planning, but I'm not a New Yorker.

While a central NJ location would be easiest for me, the problem with meeting outside of NYC is that it would not be in a transportation hub, where people coming from a distance might easily reach it. NYC may not be the most convenient place for everyone, but at least everyone in the general area can easily reach it by public transportation. There are probably a lot of Fodors users from NYC, and many may not have cars. If you e-mail the address in the first post we can at least develop a mailing list. Eventually, we'll probably use Evite, which requires registration, but for now it would be good to have e-mail addresses if yo don't mind.

I found this thread by clicking on my screen name (cmt), because I wanted to "top" the thread. I just noticed that this is the thread on the US board. I thought it was the one on the Europe board. There's a similar thread there.
