Fodorite get together 30 April in NYC!!! Join us!

Greetings! I'll be in NYC with Dawn, a fellow Fodorite and we're interested in getting together with other Fodorites in NYC. We're planning to have lunch at 11:30am at Becco, 355 W. 46th St., New York, NY 10036 (Between Eighth and Ninth Aves) 212-397-7597, on Sunday April 30th. If interested, please email me directly. I'd like to make reservations as soon as possible. We plan to attend the theatre, so our luncheon will last until about 2pm. We would love to have a great turnout. Monica and Dawn.

Monica, FYI, your luncheon can last longer than 2, as Sunday matinees don't start until 3, and, as you know, Becco is in the heart of the theater district!

Monica, Great idea! And if the "Anonymous Poster" who keeps accusing me of being a TRAVEL AGENT shows up, that would be icing on the cake !!
Good Luck...

Thanks Howard for your comments. Yes, I know how close we'll be to the theatre district. My past luncheons in the DC/MD/VA (next one is on 6 May in Bethesda) area have averaged 2-3 hours. If it goes to 2:45, fine. Going to join us? Kal, I'll let you know who shows up. I've had several get togethers, the first one in Paris.

I brought my husband to Monica's last lunch in Bethesda and we're going back in May -- this is a great bunch of people and it's fun to put faces to names. Have a great time in NYC!

Hi Diane! Glad to know that you'll be attending the May luncheon. So far for my NYC get together, I have one person (in addition to Dawn and me). I hope to get responses from others. See you in May!

Kal, you just need to post a message and start your own fodorite get together. Who knows what you'll find out, there may be several others from this web page that is from your area. Check it out and have fun! If you are ever in my area, do email me and let's get together!!!!

Wish I could join you, but alas I'm tied up that day with a 40th b-day party. Maybe next time. Have fun, Becco is great.

Boy, everyone is telling me Becco is great. I can't wait to go there!!! It was suggested by Carol who lives in NYC, but unfortunately she can't make it to the luncheon. I have 4-5 people so far.

FYI, I post my luncheons for my area at http://sites.netscape.net/monicapileggi/travel. For those of you can't make it to the NYC luncheon, if you are ever in my area, please contact me or check out my web page for the luncheon dates.

Curses! Our trip to NYC isn't until May -- but would have loved to join the fun; that sounds like such a great idea. At Howard's recommendation I've made a reservation at Becco for our pre-Cabaret dinner -- and I'm sure they'll still be talking about the Fodorites!

What about a post-theatre get together? Unfortunately I have brunch plans on that day, but I can come in the afternoon or at dinner....anyone else for a part II gathering?

Harriet, you'll love Cabaret. I saw it last month and it was excellent. Email me after the 30th and I can let you know how I liked Bacco.

Hamlet, why don't you move your brunch to Becco's ļ? I'm not sure what our plans are after the theatre, but I can let you know in a few days when I talk to Dawn.

The marketing director of Fodors.com will be attending the luncheon! So, now there is definitely 5, 6 if Elaine can join us. Any others??

Well friends, I tried to make reservations last night and Becco's is booked! Only enough room for 4 people. (Also the place opens at noon). SO, I need suggestions for another restaurant for our luncheon. Please provide your suggestions as soon as possible! those of you who have said "yes" I'll email directly. Thanks! Monica

Monica, you might want to try Virgil's Real BBQ on West 44th, between Broadway and 6th Avenue (212-921-9494). It's a large, fun place...if you like good ribs. And, the prices aren't bad.
I think you might have a problem finding a suitable place on Restaurant Row (i.e., West 46th).
Sorry I can't join you.

How about Carmine's. Always good for large groups. Also, Ollies Noodle Shop or Ruby Foos.
