Fly into Midway for a cheap fare???

I have a meeting right next to O'Hare next month but the airfare to midway is about 25% of that to O'hare. Even with the shuttle costs and my hotel at O'hare it seems to make sense to fly in to Midway. Has anyone else done this? I do have a tight schedule on the way out....meeting ends at 5p.m. close to o'Hare and the flight out of midway is 6:30. Thanks in advance!

Midway is great. However, on a weekday, even 2 and one-half hours between the end of a meeting at O'Hare and a departure time at Midway would make me nervous. If you have to get on a 6:30 flight plan to leave your meeting no later than 4:00.

Good Luck.

I live in Chicago and travel frequently from both airports- primarily O'Hare. I am with Kevin, there is no way I would leave a 5pm meeting and expect to make a 6:30pm flight out of Midway- especially via a shuttle during rush hour! I would either leave no later than 4 (although to be safe with traffic, I'd opt for 3:30) or fly out of O'Hare.

I wouldn't bet on your making the 6:30 flight after leaving your meeting at 5. Actually I'd bet against it. Also, since the Midway expansion, it's not the easy-in easy-out airport it was a few years ago.

Thanks for the great insights guys! Seems like I need to schedule a later flight or fork out more $!
