I am looking for CLEAN cottage rental for 3 nights in the middle keys march of 2000 for anniversary celebration. Dont need fancy but like unique. Will also be staying in Key West 1 night and Key Largo 2 nights (in-laws and 2 children join us here) if anyone has suggestions

We stayed at The Moorings a few years ago. Next door to Cheeca Lodge on Islamorada. Several acres of palm trees with hammocks and quaint old (but very well maintained) cottages. I believe there were sev. different sizes so maybe something would work for your family. I really enjoyed it there. jwg

We stayed at Howard Johnson suites in Key Largo - I think that would be great for a family - two bathrooms, full kitchen, two TVs, a king-size bed and a fold-out couch. I think it was $90/night.
In Key Largo, we stayed at the Grand Guesthouse. I loved that place. The rooms were fantastic, and also sleep four, but it will be a bit more crowded. The resident dogs are adorable.

My husband and I stayed a couple times at "The Colony" right off Duval St. in Key West. It has 6-7 cottages,an olympic-size pool and is walking distance from downtown. I believe they may be listed at some Key West sites but can be reached at "The Colony" with Key West Information. It is just beautiful ,peaceful and romantic. I think we paid around $900 a week during the off season - a little rich - but well worth it.

In Key Largo area we liked the Bay Harbor Lodge - our unit (2 to a cottage) had bedroom, kitchen, LR with daybeds. Nice atmosphere.

Check out Parmer's Place, midway between Marathon and Key West. They have a website, parmersplace.com. I often sent friends to stay there when I lived in the Keys and they all enjoyed it. Very reasonable and a variety of accommodations.
