Florida Getaway for solo trip

I'd like to get away from the Northeast for a long weekend on the West Coast of Florida. I'll be traveling solo.I'm thinking about Naples or Longboat Key. Need beach & something quiet. Ritz Carlton & Longboat Key Club too expensive. Any suggestions?

The most important question when it comes to prices in Florida -- WHEN?

In March, I'd fly into Miami or Fort Lauderdale and then head for the middle keys. My favorite is Islamorada. Laid back, great food, you could head up to Pennekamp to snorkel and down to Key West for a day trip. There are a lot of reasonable "old Florida" type accomodations as well a pricier resorts.

That's a very pricey time to be in Florida. I wish I had some good recommendations for LongBoat as it's a great place but I've stopped going that far south in my old age (teehehe). There are some more reasonable places than the Longboat Key Club, for sure. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
