Flight from Maui to Kauai-$$$
I'm getting fares of about $160-$170 rt on Aloha and Hawaiian Air with stops in Honolulu. Is this a good fare? Any way to get a lower fare and/or nonstop flights? We're going in May for 14 nights. Should we just stay in Maui? We've only been to Oahu. Thanks.

i say absolutely....too much to do, and so little time to waste a day on travel. Maui is just wonderful...make sure you go all the way around..as far as you can..around the island...what an ecosystem. make sure one day is a picnic day. do lahaina for sure and wailea...north shore and the road to hana (take a dramamine) enjoy

We used some frequent flier miles for our island-to-island trip. It was less miles than a regular domestic frequent flier reward ticket. The great thing was that we'd accumulated a bunch of miles on Northwest Airlines when we had MCI long distance service but NWA doesn't fly any where we tend to go. But they do partner with one of the airlines in Hawaii so we were able to use some miles that wouldn't have been used otherwise. It may not be worth using your miles if you are saving them for more expensive flights.

Last year we paid about $100 to fly Maui to Kauai. The flight was short and getting our luggage and car was very quick. We were at the condo in Kauai by 10:30 am. I found it very easy to travel between islands and we were glad we spent time on both
