Flamingo Hilton, Las Vegas
Going to Vegas for a couples 40th birthday party for 2 friends. They are staying at Caesars, but mentioned that the Flamingo Hilton is across the street from there and cheaper. Flamingo looks good to me, and the pools look great! And not being a big gambler, I might frequent the pools.
How do you compare the 2 hotels? I've heard the Flamingo has some of the greatest pools in Vegas. True? Will we be missing out by not staying at Caesar's. Since we may not be in the room much anyway, doesn't sound like it.
If you've stayed at the Flamingo I'd love to hear your opinion of the place.
Thanks so much!

I go to the Flamingo atleast twice a year. Until my last trip I thought all the rooms are basically the same with the only real difference being the size of the bathroom. Some rooms have really small bathrooms. On my last trip I stayed in a room that was have the size of the usual rooms because of the configuration of the hallway and soda/ice machines. This was also the only room that wasn't decorated in bright colors (the tropical Flamingo theme). Never take room 109 on any floor - that's the really small room. While some might find the colors garrish, I like the brightness of the rooms. In April I did a quick 2 night trip there by myself (I was on my way to LA on business). The first night I stayed at the Flamingo in the largest room I've ever had there on the top floor - great view overlooking Caesars. The second night I thought I'd try Paris since so many people rave about there. While the room was pretty it seemed depressing to me compared to the Flamingo room (beige colors, heavy furniture & drapes - overlooking a parking garage). The pools at the Flamingo are nice - beautiful garden setting. I find there is so much to do in Vegas that I don't spend much time in the room.

We just stayed at the Flamingo with a group attending a wedding and were more than pleased. Our room was on the 22nd Flr. and faced the Bellagio Fountains and we had a wonderful view of them everytime they were going. Our room was much larger than the room we previously had at Paris but our bathroom was smaller than Paris. It was very clean and the pools are lovely. Definitely a bargain and we had no complaints and would stay there again.

Stephanie,
My husband and I just got back from LV. We stayed at the Flamingo for $49/night. At that rate, it was really worth it! It's not a great hotel itself but the pool area is really lovely. They also have a nice wildlife area with flamingos, penguins, etc. There always seemed to be a lot of free chairs and plenty of "misters" on the palm trees to keep you cool. We didn't bother paying the extra $30 to stay at Caesar's since we are hardly in our room. I didn't see the Caesars pool so I can't really compare.
