First Week of Dec too "off season" for LV?

We have a trip to LV planned for the first week of Dec. A friend just informed me that the first couple weeks of Dec. are less crowded (which is good) but also that a lot of the staff is let off for holiday and some restaurants and shows shut down? Is this going to be a problem as far as choices and service? We will be staying at Bellagio and we do have tickets for the last performance of "O" before the holiday break, but will all the hotel restaurants be open? Thanks.

I believe the National Rodeo Finals are on then. Everything should be up and running. Things do get dim in the 10 days or so before Christmas, but it shouldn't bother you.

First week in December is packed with the National Rodeo finals. It brings something like 150,000 people to Vegas.

You may be hard pressed to get into shows and restaurants.

There are so many restaurants at the Bellagio, I doubt you'll go hungry here. And there are restauants at each and every establishment on the strip - be adventurous, leave your hotel.

Thanks all. Sounds like things will be fine. And we don't plan on hanging around just at Bellagio - we have 3 shows to see at other establishments and a tour to the Grand Canyon! We also haven't seen the newer hotels like Paris or Venitian since our last trip years ago. Can't wait!

The slowest (and cheapest) week of the entire year will be Sunday, December 19 through Thursday, December 23. Be aware that many shows will be dark during this time.

After that the New Year's Eve folks will start to arrive.
