Lots of good suggestions. The highs expected to be in the high 30's this week tho
I second the architectural boat cruise on the river. Also http://www.odysseycruises.com/ has a lake cruise for lunch or dinner with live music. The food is pretty darn good! The shoreline view from the lake is magnificent.
Fav restaurants: Sepia $$$$, Trattoria 10 $$, Giardano's for deep dish pizza, Italian Village $$, Kiki's $$$, Bistro 110 (for a nice lunch/wine when shopping Water Tower area), Pops for Champagne (after dinner jazz/drinks), Fronterra Grill -great margaritas-worth the wait! and you can dine from sister Topolobamba's menue if you ask.

We also will be there 5 days/4 nights... google free things to do in chicago, there are days that some of the museums and such let you in for free... last time we were there we did the architecual cruise and plan on doing it again... it was simply fantastic!
BTW... we will be there june 11th-the 14th, so I am assuming the weather will be quite warm?
Arind hope u and your hubby have a great trip... also check out buddy guys jazz club... welllllllll worth it!

Thank you, all. We had a great short trip to beautiful Chicago. We could have spent another few days there. The Chicago Architecture Foundation's river cruise wasn't running yet (begins May 1), but we took one through Shoreline Sightseeing and really enjoyed it. We did take an architecture walking tour through CAF, and also a really interesting one of the old Auditorium theater.
What a great city!
Btw, we stayed at the Hotel Monaco and found it to be perfect...especially the location.

I'm not doing a full trip report, but...
RoseH...we did get to Buddy Guy's... it felt so authentic! Your weather will probably be great. Ours was a bit too cool. I wish we had waited another month.
Swalter18...Got to a Cubs game opening weekend. We only stayed for one inning, but since our time was short had only wanted to have a taste of the experience...and did: hot dog and beer, of course!
We did get to some museums: Art Institute twice, Sci and Ind, Chicago History Museum. Loved them all and know there are more we missed.
Next time: Frank Lloyd Wright and Oak Park
Thanks again for everyone's help.
