We will be doing alaska in may before or after our trip to hawaii. We will have 4 days pre cruise what should we do??? Our cruise leaves from Seward is that Anchorage? As you can see I need lots of help! We have 2 grandkids 17 and 12 who are going with us. We want to see wildlife beautiful nature etc!
Also shore excursions what are not to miss in these ports
Seward, Alaska; Hubbard Glacier (Cruising); Juneau, Alaska; Skagway, Alaska; Icy Strait Point, Alaska; Ketchikan, Alaska; Inside Passage (Cruising); Vancouver, British Columbia
Thanks

When you stop along the cruise, do some of the fun things along the way and be aware that there are MUCH less expensive options for tours than those offered by the cruise line. In Juneau there are busses from the pier that go to Mendenhall glacier (we saw bears fishing near the glacier in August) and you can get a little bus in Skagway, at the end of the pier, for $5 all day that takes you to town and everywhere else nearby including out to the gold dredge where you can take a tour on your own.
Do take rain gear for everyone.

So how do we get there?
Or take the train (AK RR).
You might also want to post your questions on Cruise Critic http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=55

I would also suggest investing in a copy of Fodor's Alaska Ports of Call, 13th Edition http://www.fodors.com/guidebooks/9780679009566/

Seward is a bit south of Anchorage.
I would take the train. Very cool!!
Do the FULL DAY Kenai Fjords tour.
Go Kayaking. www.kayakak.com
go Salmon fishing
If you rent a car spend a full day at Alyeska.
You can go dog sledding on a glacier there and much more.
With 4 days, another option would be to see Denali, then cruise.
Unless you have already booked the cruise, I would skip it. Lots more to see and do on land and a lot less boredom, IMOP
See---
Denali
Kenai Fjords
Salmon Fishing
Bear Viewing
Dog Sledding
The Aquarium in Seward is ok for a couple of hours.
