First Trip Questions
Hi - I am just beginning to plan our first trip to Hawaii for our 5th annivesary - thanks in advance.
1. Weather - we are thinking about traveling next March - how is the weather? Should we delay until April or May - we want to be able to do beaches and pools.
2. Which Islands? We will be going to Maui because we will be using my parents timeshare for part of the time. If we have 7-10 days, which other Island should we visit? Or should we stay on Maui the whole time?
THANKS!

I'd suggest doing a search and reading some previous threads. There's a TON of info here - and your questions are common. You'll never find a consensus on which islands to visit.
IMO you should stop off on Oahu for at least a couple of days before flying on. But, if your timeshare starts at the beginning of the trip, I'd add on the Big Island. Those are my two favorites. (Maui was the one I visited first).

Lar3604; We spend two weeks in Hawaii every April becuase that's the best time for my wife to take two weeks off. We spend the first week on one of the islands and the second week in a timeshare in Waikiki. Except for two weeks, the weather has been nearly perfect. One year we had a cold, rainy week on Kauai and another year, we had an unusually hot week on the Big Island. Even the years we spent a few days at the end of March were great. Hey, it's paradise. Don't worry about the weather.

We go to Kauai at the beginning of April every year to our timeshare and the weather has always been beautiful. It does rain but not normally all day. The temperature really doesn't change that much. The average high during the day is from 75-85 normally throughout the year.
I think it depends on what you like to do as to what other island to go to. If you are only staying for a week, I'd stay put in one place. But if you have a couple of extra days, I'd explore another island. We LOVE Kauai because it is the least commercialized and just beautiful.
