First Time Vegas

Traveling to Las Vegas for the first time this week. Anyone know some good restaurants or buffets? Would also like to know where to get a good cheap breakfast. Any other thoughts/advice welcomed. Thanks in advance!

Gary, you probably will have breakfast at your own hotel for the sake of comfortability, won't you? But, since you don't say in which hotel you're staying, it's difficult to recommend a close-by place for breakfast.

However, the buffet at Monte Carlo is known for variety, freshness and quality. The Rio is also recommended. The MGM, however, is known to be highly overrated, many have complained about it here in this forum, and there in Vegas. Otherwise there are some very good regular restaurant at the Monte Carlo ground floor, and probably at other hotels.

Gary-
The best buffets (in my opinion) are: The Luxor (manhattan buffet), Harrah's, Palace Station's, Rio. For the most complete Las Vegas information go to:

I vote for the Mirage Buffet - consistent, high-quality, fresh food, enormous selection-the Sunday all day champagne brunch is especially good. Good luck.

I love the Rio. I pass through Vegas about once a month and have tried a few. There is a cafe in the flamingo that has some great, fairly descent priced breakfast (haven't tried anything else there) Be cautioned... This one always has a line!
