First Anniversary : Maui
First time to Maui:
My wife and I will be enjoying 9 days in Maui in May/June '01. June 3rd, which falls on a Sunday, will be our first anniversary. We plan to see all the sights - snorkel and bike - and anything that interests us on this beautiful island. Any suggestions on a "super" romantic activity for our special day?
Thanks for the help.

My husband and I were there on our honeymoon 3 years ago. We did a helicopter ride over the volcano, not completly romantic but incredible. There was a great romantic resturant at the Marriott in Kannapali, I think something Swan. They have swans swimming around the area. It was wonderful. Have a great time.

Stuff we really enjoyed in Maui a few years ago included:
- finding the beach north of the Kapalua area (honomau bay?) with good snorkeling. Nearly had the place to ourselves.
- Girard's restaurant in Lahaina
- Taking the bike ride down Haleakala
- Evening walks along Kanapali Beach
- Parasailing over the pacific on Kanapali beach
The drive to Hana is interesting but tiring; save that for a different day. Congratulations on your first anniversary & here's to many more!

The restaurant the prior poster is referring to is in the Hyatt and is called the Swan Court. I don't know what your budget is, but you can also have a private dinner on the beach, if you go to www.wizardpub.com you could probably find the name of the company that offers it. (pretty pricey) or how about a sunset cruise followed by a romantic dinner at someplace like the Swan Court?
