Fire damage to ski resorts in Colorado

Does anyone know if any of Colorado's ski resorts were damaged by the fire? I haven't heard anything specifically about that. Can someone tell me?

Nope, the only ones even close would be Durango Mtn and Coal Seam in Glenwood Springs and both of those pose no threat to the ski areas.

This from www.snow.com web site

Resorts Not Affected by Fires
Vail Resorts would like to express our sympathy and concerns for all those who have been affected by the wildfires in the state of Colorado. We would also like to reassure our friends and guests that our resorts have been fortunate to stay out of harm's way. This past week, Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, and Keystone have all been enjoying gorgeous, blue sky, summer days perfect for any activity you choose. See for yourself how beautiful the weather has been with a visit to our photo gallery.

Speaking for SW Colorado: Purgatory (Durango Mountain Resort) is okay so far. Wolf Creek Ski area may end up affected by the fire in Southfork ("Million Fire"?), but hasn't been affected by the Missionary Ridge fire. Telluride is fine.

Please keep in mind that despite the seriousness, loss of property, and natural resources, the fires are currently in small areas relative to the size of the state of Colorado. The Hayman fire which is the largest and most damaging covers about 24 miles in length, and I believe at most 5 miles in width. Most of the fires are in National Forest areas of wilderness type conditions. Although houses are frequently threatened, and sadly, destroyed, usually these home (but not always) are in less populated areas, hard to reach, and surrounded by wooded areas. Each fire has damaged property, but there is not widespread devastation in the state.( Hey, I'm not from the tourist board, and I don't want to discount the seriousness, but there is lots to enjoy this summer in Colorado, just not campfires.)

well said gb!

We have been to Keystone the past two weekends, great as always, went biking, hiking. Will have the family up in July will rent a pontoon boat in Dillon, lunch at the Tiki Bar, same stuff as usual. Looking forward to the Beer Festival Aug 9th and the wine and Jazz festival Aug 24th. Lots of summer stuff to do!
