Finally got my FREE gift

After being a domestic road warrior for 17 years using plane, trains and automobiles and now a retired leisurely international traveler, I get a free gift from Fodors on How To Pack!!!
Where were you 20 years ago?
Appreciate the thought though.

Hey--Good idea. It's for sale. Think Ebay would bring the best price?

Haven't gotten mine yet. Gosh, I hope I get something else -- I teach a packing class in at a local community college

Oh, well - free is free

Alooohaaa,
Did I register at the wrong place? I received a 2003 Toyota 4Runner.

Maybe because I was the first to enter?

Or maybe because last night I tried working my way down all of those margarita recipes in one night? ;^)

Yep. Magnets and margaritas. I'm trying to use them right now as a hangover cure.
Hey! I can see Friday from here!
Mahalo,
Kal

Toyota, Kal? I got the Mercedes!

Truth be told, I wasn't on the site that first day and missed the whole gift thing. Still have my two Fodor pins though!

I received the packing tips book also. I found some useful tips in the book, I especially liked the section entitled, "tips from an anonymous baggage handler."

Bets,
Ahhhhh...the FAMOUS FODOR'S PINS!!!!!
That was another funny thread.

I'll keep a set of magnets in the new "Fodor's Blue" Toyota in case we run into each other in NoCal someday.

I put all of the magnets on my computer.
I hope they don't screw up Kfsjw7sjfn&932$8 334 $|lt;"$ &^(34 dfth the computer's hard drive.

I didn't get the book or even the pins. Now I travel with a terribly organized suitcase and fellow Fodorites can recognize me only by my wrinkled couture and my oft repeated introduction of "Hi - I am a Fodorite and my name is..."

Hey, I got the email asking for my address but I haven't received my free gift yet! It could be that I sent them my address only a little over two weeks ago.

Magnets and margaritas? Hmmm sounds like a new party game.

I haven't received my freebie from Fodor's yet. But if Kal would like to send a Margarita or a new car I'll take it!

As I mentioned over on the Europe board, my sister-in-law could use the how to pack guide. She and my brother went on a 5-day trip and took 6 suitcases. I think it's nuts to take that much stuff, and she thinks I'm nuts by refusing to check luggage. I'm down to one 22" rollaboard and my old backpack from high school/college. I'm trying to figure out how to get down to just the bookbag.

I have a pin somewhere at home, and I guess I could find some room on the refrigerator for more magnets. Pretty soon the frige will tip over from the weight from the magnets.

Aloha Kal,

I look forward to the margarita. I hope the salt stays on the rim while in transit.

Finally got my gift - lovely book...I especially LOVE the tip to try a test run with your luggage. I, of course, have been doing that for years. And really, who doesn't have the time to pack their suitcase a week before their trip and carry it around for 20 minutes to different places? Invaluable I tell you.

I finally got my free gift yesterday! It was the packing tips book. And I wanted the magnets..... ; )

I especially liked the message on the cover "100,000 in print" Notice it says nothing about any of them actually being SOLD.

Thanks Fodors!
