Finalizing Yellowstone lodging, please help!
I currently have two nights Old Room OFI, one night canyon western cabin, three nights Roosevelt cabin w/ bath, and one night western Lake Lodge. Should I try to change my first Roosevelt night to be another night at Canyon or is one night enough?

You could do it either way. I really like Roosevelt--you can head to Lamar or Hayden Valley for Wildlife super easy from here. Plus it is a bit quieter. I think 1 day is enough to see plenty of Canyon area and even some hiking there too.
I would think it would depend on what you plan to do. Do you have specific hikes in either of the areas? Do you want to spend a lot of time looking/searching for wildlife? Do you want to spend time boating on the lake? Do you plan on doing horseback riding or wagon ride at Roosevelt? Fishing in one of the rivers? or what? That would determine which place to stay at and how long.

We do enjoy wildlife and we will do short hikes and want to experience the different areas of the park. I don't think that we will spend time boating on the lake but we do have the cookout planned. I know we want to see the Canyon area and see Artist point at sunrise. I just didn't want to spend too little time there and too much at Roosevelt.

Canyon area was the most crowded area of Yellowstone when we were there so I think one night is sufficient. And, as Spiro mentioned above, driving in YNP provides opportunities for seeing wildlife.
We also had a phenomenal experience in our Canyon cabin - enjoyed howling wolves throughout the night!

Thanks! I think I have decided on one night in Canyon just to get up early for Artist Point at sunrise and will do the three days in Roosevelt so we can go to Lamar in the morning and evening. I supposed we can always drive back to canyon area if we want to see anything more on the other days.
