Favorite "unspoiled "places poll..

Though no place is perfect, where are some of your favorite places to relax, be it beaches, mountains, etc.? I'm looking for something different, without the huge crowds and touristy feel. Thanks for any input. Oh, international destinations could be included for fun and inspiration

Trondheim, Norway. I know, a lot of you will say WHERE?! That's the point!

I'm in Alaska, which is often compared to Norway. We do have the fjords, glaciers and miles of wilderness to enjoy. I'll look up Trondheim. Thanks.

Andros in the Bahamas. Sun, empty beaches, snorkling, diving and hammocks to relax. No major tourist agenda. It is a heaven especially if you like the water

If you really want no crowds and tourists go to North Dakota. They have not seen a tourist since the white man came. Viva Native Americans.

Amytam,
Your location sounds like a great possiblity for our spring anniversary destination. I've always had an interest in the Bahamas, and it seems to fit the bill. My husband loves to snorkel, and my two sons are learning. I like the hammock and nice beach scenario, especially after our long Alaskan winter. What time of the year have you been there, and how often? Any hotel/condo tips? Thanks!

Not sure how this happened because it is sandwiched between Miami Beach and Ft. Lauderdale but Hollywood Beach, Florida. Very wide white sandy beaches with water that is the clearest I've ever seen. Small mom and pop motels and is sort of a residential community.

If you're interested in Andros, Bahamas, you must look up Small Hope Bay Lodge for the most perfect ever hammock and snorkeling family vacation!
