Just wanted to ask the gals, were you a daddy's girl? I was, and my sister too. Luckily, we are past arguing over who was the favorite, lol.

Hi jetset, yes I was a Daddy's Girl, lol. I had the most wonderful father and he loved me so much. He encouraged me in whatever interest I had be it art, business, travel or whatever. I really miss my father..and I always will. And on the last day of his life he thanked me for everything I had done for him. I have to say he did much for for me then I ever did for him..but I am glad he knew how much I loved him.

A quick but sweet story. It was about a week before his May birthday. My father was the "old school" gentleman. His favorite pair of grey wool slacks were looking a bit worn. I suggested to him that I take him to a special mens clothing store in our area and let him pick out a new pair of slacks for his birthday present. I also told him I would take him to lunch. He loved that idea.

So we went to the wonderful restaurant and had a beautiful lunch..one I will never forget.

Then we went to the men's clothing store. They knew me as my husband shopped there. They helped my dad pick out the perfect pair of wool gray slacks. Oh that was good! The next thing I knew my dad come out from the back wearing the most beautiful Italian wool navy blazer. He looked at me with his most beautiful dark blue eyes and said "don't you think this blazer looks good with these grey slacks?" Yes it did. Then there were two dress shirts and three Italian silk ties. LOL. I never had so much fun spending money. My conservative father (who had worn the same English leather shoes for over twenty years) had so much fun shopping that day. And I still feel blessed that I was able to buy him all of those elegant clothes which he wore for the rest of his life. For once I got to real feel like I really got to give my wonderful father a day of treats.
