Family vacation with 15 month old
We are planning to go somewhere warm in early March and are looking for recommendations for resorts (golf and tennis) in Florida. Not interested in Disney World because I believe our son is too young and will get more out of it when he is older. Thanks for any suggestions and thoughts!

I myself have a 17 month old daughter and was inquiring about the same. The South Seas Plantation at Captiva Island (or maybe its Amelia) came in very highly recommended by many people I spoke to.
This resort can be pricey though. If it is out of your price range, please keep in mind that there are several other hotels/resorts in this location that offer accomodations at a lower rate.
I hope this helps.

The above poster is right with Captiva Island. Captiva is right next to Sanibel which would be a perfect place to take a little one. Fly into Fort Meyers or Tampa. Search this site for lots of info on Sanibel. You are so wise to wait on Disney. Till they are 3 years old it really is too much for most toddlers. Sanibel will be a real relaxing vacation.

Actually, Disney isn't really fun until the child is over 36" tall so they can go on all of the rides! I remember a (long since) past family vacation to Disney when my sister was 4 years old and under 36" tall...Mom had to stay behind with her while Dad and I went on all of the rides. Also, she was scared of Mickey Mouse, which annoyed my Dad because he had spent good money to get us there and she ended up afraid of the characters!
The good news: we went back when I was a senior in high school and she was in 8th grade and had a BLAST!!!!
