Family Condo in Maui ideas
Any advice for a family of 5 (ages 3,8,11) staying in Maui during March/April. Would like at least a 2 bedroom with good access to a beach.
Several people have mentioned the Kamaole Sands in Kihei. Any ideas, recommendations, thoughts?
Thanks

Go to vrbo.com and check out all the Maui condos for rent by owner. They are less expensive than the companies that rent out condos, and you can see photos of the actual unit you will be renting instead of what's in the rental companies "pool" of units that week. I have never had a problem renting from the owners on this website.
The Mana Kai is a good choice, as are the condos next to Kamaole Sands such as Hale Kamaole and Maui Kamaole. KS is large but still very good as well, by the way. Do a lot of research on the Kihei area before you pick one, but I think you'll be pleased with anything on vrbo.

We have stayed at the Kamaole Nalu Resort in Kihei. Two bedroom, two bath with a living room/kitchen area. All rooms have patios - most with patio furniture. It's one of the only condo developments on the beach side of the road and all rooms have ocean views (its on a small peninsula). There is a small pool and BBQs on the property as well as an office with tourism info. The building is right in between the beaches Kihei II and III - both are great for sun and swimming - it's about a 1 minute walk to either. Pretty reasonable and they packages that include a reasonably priced car. It is right across the street from a strip mall with a video store (all rooms have a video machine), a Lappert's ice cream, and a couple of restaurants (kid-friendly). They have a web-site - just search under their name.
