Family Biking Trip
We are planning on taking our 2 teenaged boys to either Vermont or New Hampshire in early August to do a 3-5 day self-guided bike trip. I have read about 2 companies: Country Inns Along the Trail (VT) and Biking the Whites (NH). Has anyone used either company? Any suggestions?

I can't comment on either company, but would encourage you to also look at a number of books of suggested bicycle rides, and to check the links of affiliated bike clubs & organizations that you can find at two national organizations, adventurecycling.org and bikeleague.org Often not-for-profit organizations offer very well organized, yet inexpensive multiday bike tours. Another consideration is to do a "fund raiser" type of ride hosted by various charities (MS, Lung Association, etc) as they are usually very well organized, with sag support, and often the fundraising requirements are so low that even if you "front" the entire "donation" yourself is still a good deal, and a nice experience meeting and riding with the other participants.

Kingdom Trails in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont is fast becoming a popular biking area. Haven't been yet myself though (it's on the to-do list).

I'd also be interested in hearing about the inn-to-inn trips....

We are just starting to plan a similar trip with our kids - the following site seems to offer lots of options including the Northeast Kingdom http://www.bikevt.com/ We're trying to find a good combination of mountain and road biking. Would love to know if you have discovered anything since your last post.
