What is the best time to see Fall foliage in Colorado, Wyoming, & Montana?

In my neck of the woods up here at 8,500 feet in Colorado, the leaves are just beginning to change. The third week of September (next week) is what I consider peak season at 10,000 feet, but every year is different. I plan to do some leaf peeping at 10,000 feet next week.

I live in Montana. The fourth week of September and beginning of October are usually pretty good for leaf peeping.

We were in Winter Park, CO, this past weekend. The aspen are not showing color yet.

We are thinking about trying to see fall foliage around Sept 27th - Oct. 5th. Any suggestions for the best options for this?

I think in that timeframe -- 9/27 - 10/5-- you should be in prime color season in Colorado, just about anywhere you go in the mountains.
