Recently there have been a couple of news stories about a NYC hotel that has rooms for $99..great location, only catch is the rooms are quite small--anyone know the name of that hotel? thanks

could be marcel, or thirty-thirty. There's a few more small hotels in that area (midtown south) that may in the that range,.

Do you remember where the stories appeared or the neighborhood of the hotel? Try looking at the City Club Hotel.

I am guessing that this is a mention for the NY IanSchrager hotels: the Paramount and the Hudson. Rooms are miniature and not liveable unless you travel alone. There is not even enough room to lay down luggage!

Kim Jong Il and Verne Troyer say it's actually a great value, the rooms aren't THAT small.

I doubt it was City Club... agreed the room are TINY but the going rates are generally WAY over 99.00
There are many hotels that offer tiny rooms at budget prices. Just go on the web and look.

Has to be the Tudor Hotel on E 42nd St, the rooms are about the size of a closet. I was amazed at how small the rooms were there, you could lie down and use the bathroom at the same time, now that is small, and I 'm not really kidding. The location is great 1st Ave and 42nd St, close to the United Nations.

Hope this helps.

Several hotels on the Upper East Side offer tiny rooms for that rate.
