I am also heading to Las Vegas, Arizona, and up to Utah to Brice and Zion for a couple of weeks. Anyone have any suggestions on places to stay, eat or excursions to take while there.

Ok I will give you the other side of the equation.

I was a successful 6 figure executive until 6 months ago when our company was forced to shut down.

So far at my level zippo!

I'm going NUTS here at home and if I don't find work soon, I think I am going to be checked into the psych ward!

Believe it or not I'm dying for the days of pressure filled schedules!
Try sleeping at night wondering if the light at the end of the tunnel is sunshine or a train!

Anyway...just thought looking through the "looking glass" at the other side might help you find perspective.

Sounds like you just need to make some adjustments.

Sounds to me like the old saying about the "grass always looks greener on the other side" business. Good luck to all of you. I think is all about balancing ones' lifestyles.

Sometimes your life can be totally absorbed by your work. If you really look closely at the situation, you will probably see that it is self perpetuated, and all that is necessary is learning how to say "NO"

This is the best lesson I have ever learned, just wish it came sooner.

The best lesson I learned at work is that I am expendable (as is everyone else). Don't get caught up thinking that the world will end if you go on vacation, delegate something to someone else, etc. I no longer get too involved with co-workers -- I make sure my life is full and rich OUTSIDE of the workplace. When I started at my current company we had 500+ employees; 3 years later it's down to 150. You just never know -- you could get laid off, company could be sold, etc. etc.

A few years ago I quit my job, and traveled around the S. Pacific for three months. It was definitely worth it.
