Hi, have stayed at Excalibur a few times. Its a basic room, but the price is right. The food isn't great in the hotel itself, but the location is right on the strip. Across from MGM, NY NY, Luxor.

We've never stayed there, but we've been through it. The public areas seem to be very family/kid oriented. They have a Mickey D's, and our two enjoyed seeing Krispy Kreme Doughnuts being made (yum-yum!)

There are many cute toy/kid-oriented shops and restaurants, with entertainment for kids nearby, i.e. puppet shows etc. If you have kids, I would highly recommend it.

Most of the other resorts, while being VERY nice, do not have amenities geared to little kids. While the pools in the resorts are fabulous, that's about it for children.

(Not to start a controversy here - because we don't think Vegas is for kids, either! We just happened to be driving right through on our western adventures and it was a good change of pace after countless canyons!!! JMHO!)

Excalibur is an economy-type place as far as the rooms go. Basic. OK. Geared toward families. Like a Ramada in an orchard of Hyatts, Ritzes and Marriotts. I wouldn't book an adult group there, J. You should be able to find something better close by for a bit more $$.

I would avoid the Excalibar at all costs. It is a typical low budget Circus Circus property and is usually overrun with kids. There are many other properties that are far more desireable and not much more expensive.

Hey Larry, good advice UNLESS Bill has kids and WANTS a kid-oriented place. Excaliber isn't that bad, Its much nicer than Circus Circus! pul-eeze! And it's in a perfect location, in the middle (almost) of everything. If you're only gonna sleep there, and have kids, it's where I'd stay.

I stayed at Excalibur 2 weeks ago and I've stayed there at least 8 other times.
The price is right, the rooms are clean, the food is better than expected, especially the steakhouse. There is a train (tram) to Mandalay Bay and a covered walkway to Luxor. It's close to NY,NY and Tropicana, too. Granted, it's a little far down the strip but we took the monorail from MGM to Bally's a few times and the strip bus is only 2 dollars if you don't want to walk. I never was offended by children in the casino since they're not allowed to loiter but there sure are a lot of them in the public areas. I would take 35 people there with no problem. You can save 100 bucks (double occ) for 2 or three days. Have a good time !

why not stay more centrally located such as Bally`s-Paris-flamingo Hilton-Treasure Island..you can walk most places from there..maybe the new Alladin..that is one of the more lower end hotels(IMHO)...checkout lvol.com
