Erratic Airline Security

I have flown on Delta, Continental, Air Canada, United and American both inside and outside the U.S. since the terrorist attacks of Sept.11. I have experienced and am concerned about the huge difference among airline security measures, American being the most stringent, interestingly between MCO and MIA (obvious reasons?) and United the least, again between MIA and MCO (less obvious reasons!) I am curious about others experiences...

I recently traveled from ATlanta to Las Vegas and I noticed a big difference in Airport security. Atlanta was not as tight with security measures as they seemed to be in Las Vegas. It could have been the time of day I was traveling, but I am very concerned about airport security.

I too am concerned. We recently flew out of SJC on Southwest. Formed the usual line one hour prior and waited for our little brown boarding passes. When we go to the desk a man, non native speaker, in front of us had a blue boarding pass (#12) for the LA flight that had already departed. He obviously go confused and missed his flight because he didn't know the SWA drill. How can that happen? I thought all boarding passes had to be accounted for. And, I wonder did his luggage go to LA without him? THat's not supposed to happen either.

In Boston, about 2 days ago, a man cleared security and got all the way to the gate before anyone noticed that his ticket and his identification didn't match. Delta had given him the wrong passenger ticket....
