I wasn't aware that Universal resorts accepted the card, but its a one year membership that is valid at many hotels nationwide, and there are coupons for the local area of the book you purchase.

Universal has not yet released the Entertainment rates for 2004. You can call 1-888-BeAStar and ask if the rates are available for the dates you want. If they are you can buy a book on line at www.entertainment.com or from a local school or charity. You can buy the book for your local area and use the discounts on local restaurants all year. You do not need to have the Orlando book. Go to www.disboards.com and scroll down to the Universal forums for all the information you need.

We used the entertainment card to stay at the hard rock hotel in 2002. Did not have to have the card at the time of making the reservation but needed any card (did not have to be florida/orlando) at check-in. To make the reservation, I just called the Loews reservation number and asked about the entertainiment rate as the universal hotels are all loews properties. In a quick antidote, I booked the rooms at the entertainment rate (then $129 for december 2002 - not christmas). After I got off the phone, I told my husband to keep his eyes out for anyone's kid who was selling entertainment books for fundraisers and explained why. Two hours later, my door bell rings, there is a man standing at it. He hands me an entertainment book for my area and says, thanks for re-signing up with xyz telephone company, this is the free gift we promised you and walks away. I go back into the house laughing and decide that this vacation was off to a great start.
