It's a good book but use it wisely - the "half-price" hotel room deal often dictates that the discount is taken from the "rack rate" (an unrealistically high rate that hotels almost never really charge anyone). Sometimes a better deal can be obtained by negotiating directly for the lowest possible price. The restaurant offers are truly a great deal and often the money saved on one or two dinners out can repay the cost of the book.

You can use any cities Entertainment book to get the Edgewater 50% off, then when you get to Hawaii you can get one at the Aquarium for $30.00 for your stay in Hawaii, and it'll more than pay for itself for that trip. We use our Seattle book to get the discount, then since we usually go to Hawaii 2x year, we get the local Hawaii book.

Hello! I've been wondering about these Entertainment books also. Will be in Maui for five nights in July, for a Dietary Managers post-convention trip from San Francisco. Our accomodations will be at the Aston Wailea Resort, already prepaid. Would the Entertainment Book be useful for such a short time, especially since the hotel is already out of the picture? I tried to access the website to find out more specifics of what and where the discounts are to, but couldn't get past the opening page. Just would like to know if anyone could advise on the savings they have experienced on Maui, specifically. Is the interisland airfare included or is it a separate coupon book? Thanks so much.

My teen-aged daughter and I vacationed in Hawaii a few years ago and used the Entertainment Book along with a timeshare week on the Big Island. Not only did we save $, the hotels we booked on Maui and Kauai (sp?) were wonderful hotels that added to our memories. Use the non-chain restaurant coupons as much as you can. The places may be harder to find and not much to look at from the outside. However, we found we were dining with the locals and it was more fun than an overpriced restaurant full of tourists. They were more interested in us, too, being visitors from NY. Have a great trip!
