We were there during the same time frame at the Fairmont. Not too far from the Allerton. We walked by the Allerton a couple times and even ate at Gino's East around the corner on Superior.
Anywho, the circumstances for the proposal sound completely romantic and perfect! I wish you and your wife-to-be all the happiness you can stand! May you love each other well through the good and the not-so-good.
