Have down a Triple A triptik and a mapquest, but south of Pittsburgh, everything seems so broken up, route-wise, want to stay at a Hampton or the like..do you have a stop you could recommend?

go to freetrip.com and after entering starting and finishing points, check off hotel price range. When the info comes up, it will list hotels along the way at various mileage points.

Beckley, WV is a good stopping point, as ronkala suggested. There's a Hampton Inn off Exit 44 on I-64/77.

If you decide to come on to Mt. Airy (the original Mayberry, Andy Griffith's birthplace), post again. I can suggest three fairly good restaurant choices for you and some things to do.
