Emeril LaGasse's Restaurants?

Is the service at Emeril's restaurants really as bad as we have been reading in travel books, and these forums?

I have eaten at two of his restaurants in the past year, in New Orleans (NOLA & Emerils) and both had great service. I'll be going to the one in Orlando next week and will reply when I return.

My husband and I ate at Nola a couple of months ago. The service was great but the food was awful!!! The only interesting thing was that we sat next to Loni Anderson.

The food and service at Emeril's both leave a lot to be desired. NOLA has a much better selection on their menu and everything I've ever had there has been great. The service has been very good. If you don't have a reservation, be prepared to wait a couple of hours and be totally at the mercy of the hostess. I haven't eaten at Delmonico's, but my husband has once. He said it was good - but then again, I would think that $200 lunch for three would be good. I've never eaten at any of his restaurants outside of N.O. We prefer any of the Brennan properties to any of Emeril's.

I ate at the restaurant in Las Vegas a few years ago and I would rank it in the top 10 meals I've had in my lifetime. I had a good experience with it.

We ate at NOLA about 18 mos ago (not exactly a recent review) but had a great meal and good service. We didn't have reservations, but got there just before opening time and waited in line. They alternated a reservation with a walk-in. We have eaten at many N.O. restaurants and this was one of the best. A friend was there recently and ate at the kitchen bar and Emeril came in and joined him - interesting guy, he said.
