Oh the memories...The Pine Club, Peerless Mill Inn, and Woody's Bakery! One of my favorite places was a little Mexican hole-in-the-wall, Pepito's.
I missed Skyline so much that I've learned how to make it myself. Everyone here (Miami) loves it. It's a very interesting list of ingredients.
I guess any kind of Lake Erie activity might be a little chilly at Easter. I remember freezing to death in June while out fishing for Walleye, but I caught the biggest fish.
I've been racking my brain trying to think of a "weekend" destination that would interest the age ranges. I keep coming up with Chicago, but you've done that. I've been thinking about places I went on a weekend outing, but all were boat related like Brookville Lake, the Ohio River, Cumberland, etc. Easter falls in that iffy time of year from a weather perspective, or maybe my blood has just gotten thin.
The Horse Park comes to mind if you're into horses. What about Louisville? Maybe someone can suggest an activity in Louisville. That's within your range.

If it is the place I'm thinking of they have gotten into all kinds of trouble in the past & the pics may be a tad...um...misleading. Perhaps they have cleaned up their act but I would want a firsthand account from someone who had been there recently.

I had never heard of The Wilds so did some googling. Out of the first several dozen hits I could only find rave reviews from both people who went and from journalism or travel related reviews of the experience. The only comment that I found that could possibly be viewed as negative was one by "Americans for Prosperity" complaining about tax dollars (pork barrel spending) going to projects such as this. But even they never gave a single negative about the actual experience or the place itself.
Now I'm wondering if perhaps this was NOT the place you were thinking about, WannabeinaMontserrat.
