Earthlink.net

Am I the only person having major league difficulties with Earthlink these last 4 or 5 days.
Thankfully, I'll be with SBC DSL via wireless router/Vonage VoIP until we finish the house in SMdA.

I have Earthlink at home, even joined on Sunday and posted something! And my son is using it constantly. Sorry to say it may be your PC.

I really like Earthlink, that's why I don't mind to pay for it.

No issues here.
Call their hotline to learn of outages.

We're on comcast, but we've been having problems on and off the past week which I think are server problems. Pages take forever to load and frequently it can't find the page. It was really bad, then it got better, and today I am having problems again. Yuck -- it makes you realize how dependent you are on the damn computer!

I had SBC and hated it. I now have Comcast as Marilyn does. But notice that it is the BayArea websites that are a problem. So do not think it is Comcast per se, but something going on in the SF Bay Area. Have been basically happy with Comcast, hated SBC.

Yes, I agree it is the SF Bay Area. But I wish they would get it fixed! Seems ok right now...

Having had tons of problems. This morning while tring to get my e-mail, it went off 4 times and then a 5th when trying to send a short answer to one of my e-mails. I live in So. Calif. Perhaps, there's a problem there?

Yes, Tandoori, it's definitely his fault!

I have earthlink dialup and not have any problems recently. What I do have a problem with mikemo is that you are only paying $15.99/month. I'm paying $19.95 per month and that's with the AARP "discount". What's going on? Is Earthlink messing with the older people?

Yesterday, I had similar problems with connecting to the internet, and finally decided perhaps it was the dense fog and a signal wasn't coming through at times. I've had that happen when there's a downpour; however, being in SoCal it doesn't rain very often. (My very amateur opinion.)

I've got to check my rates with Earthlink...I'm paying $21.95, and I belong to AARP!

Roy, it must be something special... give it few month, and Mikemo will be paying the same as we do.

Mpf, just call Earthlink 800 number and give them your AARP number on your card. I don't know if they give retroactive discount, but from now on it will be 19.95.

Roy,
Actually, it's (Earthlink.net) $15.95 as a long time USAA member and former sprint customer.
I quit Sprint using the MCI card from Costco years ago, and just deleated Sprint after never using the long distance service when they began charging $3.95 a month for no service.
I'm going with Vonage and free Yahoo wireless/router to SO's SBC DSL when I move on Friday.
When we move permanently to SMdA, we'll use local wireless I/N (unisono.net.mx) and my VoIP (Vonage) with free long distance calls to US and Canada and very inexpensive rates to Europe and elsewhere.
