I can't think of a hotel in WALKING distance, but there are several not far away. They built the Gwinnett Arena between major arteries (Sugarloaf Parkway, I 85) and not in a "walking" area.
One idea - enter the address in Mapquest or Google, get the map and then choose "hotel" nearby and search. You will see a list of the closest hotels and how far away they are.
I like the Hampton. I had problems with the Hilton Garden Inn in the area.

With the possible exception of some of downtown Atlanta like VA Highlands, Buckhead, Little 5 pts - there is very little of the Atlanta area that is conducive to walking. Lots of reports that slam Atlanta for the dearth of sidewalks.

Duluth itself has a nice small town feel to it. The Gwinnett Arena out by the expressway.
Seems to be pretty "normal" these days. There have been other posts wanting hotels in walking distance to sports stadiums, arenas, etc in varied cities. They just aren't building the new arenas in "walkable" areas nowadays.
You can indeed walk to all the sporting venues in Atlanta though with very convenient hotels - some overlooking the venue. That is not the case for the Gwinnett arena.

i2 is spot on. The Holiday Inn is supposedly right there. I don't remember seeing it - but the link she provided does show that it is 0 miles from the arena. I'm going to drive by sometime soon just to see how obvious a hotel I missed!
