Dulles to Maui -- 1 Stop Under $500

This is an update to a previous post (no replies) asking if $480 is a good airfare from IAD to OGG for April. Thought a catchier headline would generate additional interest.

Searching on Kayak.com and Delta.com showed IAD to OGG with one stop in ATL for $474.
We just booked it and saved another 5% using USAA Platinum credit card travel services. Total per person including taxes was $451.

I was wondering if this was a fluke, so I just checked the Delta website for the airfare from ATL to OGG for my travel dates (3/10 to 3/17 - changed from my original post to avoid cold DC weather) and the fare from ATL was nearly $1200!!! Not really sure why it costs $700 less to travel from IAD, but I'll take it.

If you live in the DC area, I highly recommend you check this out. We got same airfare for every week in March and April we searched. Happy travels!

I think you would get more responses if you say from Washington D.C. or Washington D.C. Dulles to Maui instead of IAD to Maui or Dulles to Maui.

Not everyone is familiar with every airport code or the name of every airport.

$480 is a good fare. Take it.

Thanks - I reposted with a clearer heading last night. I did book the airfare. I also checked the airfare from ATL to OGG for the same dates, and it was nearly $1,200/per person. I believe Delta is having a glitch on the Dulles to Maui route at the moment!

Forget it...this was the more clearly titled post I was just referring to. I'm pretty sure folks in this area know the DC airports by name. Am posting as a courtesy to folks in this area to notify them of the airfare.
