Dsigner Knock-offs in Washington, D.C.
Ok--just in New York last weekend with my wife. She (ok we are from flyover world) was crazy about designer knock-off (Kate Spade bags) in New York esp. Canal and West Broadway.
I have to go to Washington, D.C. on business next month--and all her friends want them--is there an area (safe of course) in D.C. selling that stuff?
Thanks in advance,
Bob

Selling what stuff .. you mean knock-offs on the street? Don't know ... but you can get real deals on stuff near the White House, along 15th Street, and stuff on Independence Avenue near Air and Space. Not sure what you mean about safe ... usually we try not to have stuuf for sale on the street in the poorer, more violent neighborhoods. Welcome to DC, from fly over world. All tourists are welcome.

Hi Bob--if you are in Georgetown, the place you want is just up Wisconsin from M Street; there is a huge Kate Spade "stand" just past Restoration Hardware on the left; my friends and I all shop there.
This is a great country, isn't it?
Have fun--by the way, the going price seems to be 2 for $50 but feel free to bargain!!

This IS a great country! I had to laugh at your question, Bob--only because we also arrived in Washington on a 'mission' 2 summers ago. My then 10 year old son had heard tales of wonderful, fabulous, totally fake Oakleys to be had in Washington and he couldn't wait. We literally had just dumped our suitcases in the hotel room when he spotted a sunglasses vendor from the window. He grabbed his wallet and his dad and away they went. Total success--2 pairs later and his entire vacation was made. Of course, then his sister had to visit the vendor... By the way, we eventually did some serious touring of our nation's capital and had a wonderful time. First things first, though!!! Have a fun trip.
